  • Q: Know a good site to order a custom leather guitar strap?
Im looking to oder a good quality western style acoustic leather guitar strap. I want to personalize it with a name or initials and preferably want a buckle and conchos added. Anyone know of a good custom leather website that specializes in guitar straps that are natural leather? ive been to all these sites. the only one i saw that had the buckles and conchos were mosbyguitars.com and the only other natural leather user was the americancustomleather.com. any others?
A:You can try some of these links. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=custom+leather+guitar+straps&fr=ush-ans http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=custom+leather+guitar+straps&category0=
  • Q: How to put the guitar straps on without the pin?
i just bought this cool red leather guitar strap for my acoustic. I didn't realize that i only have the end pin, but not the strap pin. i cant return the strap, it was on final sale. how do i make it work?
A:ok, heres what you do. tie a string to the headstock of the guitar, under the strings, (right where the neck ends and the strings all start heading to there respective tuners) then tie the string thru teh guitar strap hole. its a little different, than with pins, but better than drilling a hole in your baby. http://www.mcnairn.info/DATA/IanBlog001.nsf/dx/violet-haze.htm/content/M2?OpenElement kindof like this :)
  • Q: How do I attach a leather guitar strap to my acoustic guitar?
I'm not sure if the wider end attaches to the bottom or to the part by the neck. There are two ends on the strap, a wide end, and a narrow end where you can adjust the length of the strap. Both ends of the strap have holes, so what do I use the shoelace for?
A:The larger end attaches to the bottom of the guitar and the narrow end to the top.
  • Q: I want to do some artwork on a leather guitar strap. Are permanent acid free markers good for that?
I was looking at these-- http://www.amazon.com/BIC-Collection-Permanent-Assorted-36-Count/dp/B000OZMSYC/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=grocery&qid=1214100141&sr=8-1 I just don't want to waste my money or screw up the strap. Thanks.
A:You can use a Sharpie of any color, but first be sure to try a little bit in an inconspicuous area first to check for bleeding out to the edges or through to the other side.
  • Q: Decorating a leather guitar strap?
Hey I've got a plain black leather guitar strap and I want to bling it up a bit. I'm not sure what you can actually do to leather. Would it be possible to spray paint patterns onto it? or stick jewely things to it? or even glitter? Because the leather is already "polished" I'm not sure what will stick to it or what will turn out looking alright, and what would be more permanent?
A:Try using upholstery nail heads (think tacks). They come in brass and silver tones. You might have to put a lining on the back when done (to keep it from stratching), but it would give it a nice "pit bull dog collar" effect. Hope this was helpful.
