Q: Compatible Cable Release for Canon Rebel?
I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel xT with an 18-55 lens, and I just need suggestions for what cable release might work well with it. I've already invested in a tripod , so I would only need the cable release for a very long exposure.A:Your camera has a 30 second shutter speed which you can use with the self-timer. An electronic cable release may not work with the Bulb setting* so you'll need to check with Canon for any mechanical cable release to use. For long exposures you'll want a locking cable release so you don't have to hold it down. You didn't say what length of exposures you want to try. I've used the FotoSharp (fotosharp.com) Day & Night Exposure Guide for years and recommend it. IMO its better to have a solid starting point instead of experimenting until you finally get a good result. * One camera I own can use an electronic cable release but as soon as the button is pushed the shutter fires - even on Bulb. For long exposures I use a standard mechanical cable release.

Q: Is a remote/cable release available for the Canon Powershot A610 digital camera?
I would like to do so digiscoping, and would like to be able to stabilize the camera as much as possible when snapping a picture.A:I know you can take pictures remotely using a PC and the A620. Not sure if this feature is incorporated in the 610 as well. I second the use of the 2 or 10 sec. timer along with a tripod or solid surface. I use this for low light night shots and have never had a problem.

Q: Does anyone know where I can find a cable release with timer for a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi?
or a wireless one.A:I own an XTi so you'll need to do what I'll need to do and that is purchase a "wireless remote" Canon RC-1/RC-5, or a RS-60E3 (2ft. cord). Both of these can be located on p.90 of yout XTi manual.
