• Q: beltronics v 940 radar detector?
  Is this a good radar detector? And is it best in its price range which is about 150. Thanks

  A:Hello, I can tell you that you be better off keeping your money. Most departments are going to laser(pin point accuracy&by the time your detector goes off it's too late if it can detect laser),and radar that they use is only on for a few seconds they dont leave it on. Hope this helps
• Q: Which is the best Radar Detector? Passport 8500 X50 vs Beltronics RX65?
  A:To me the best bang for your bunch radar detector is the BEL 955, for $179 at RadarBusters.com. The BEL 955 is not the best but it is certainly up there with the top 3 radar detectors [Escort 8500 X50($300), BEL RX65 ($329.99), and Valentine 1($400)] I personally have a BEL Vector 995($270) and Valentine 1($400) and their is only a slight difference in detection range. I like both detectors equally due to their unique features. The BEST radar detector is relative to the features you like/need.....There are 5 radar detectors with equal performance in most respects and will save you tickets contrary to what some will tell you. The Top 5 radar detectors are (in no specific order) the: BEL RX65 BEL STi Escort 8500 X50 Escort 9500i Valentine 1 I personally use the Valentine 1 as well as the BEL vector 995 both have saved me huge fines when dealing with police radar. But for dealing with Laser you really needs a laser jammer (illegal in some states) I use a Blinder M20 and Anti-Laser laser jammers on my Volvo along with LaserShield plate cover. For those that say a radar detector is just a ticket notifier obviously don't have experience with a top level detector. Ask any of my friends that ride in my car. My detectors both sniff out cops easily and give me plenty of time to slow down when usually going 10-15mph over the limit. • Q: Beltronics 955 vs. Beltronics 995 and other radar detectors?
  Hello Everyone. I was wondering whats the difference between the 955 and 995. Which one should I buy? Are they both the same detectors but more features? And how do both compare to Escort 8500 X50 or Valentine 1? Thank you.

  A:I have the Valentine 1 and personally think it the best one out there. It detect cop behind me many times, which other radar detector don't.
• Q: Radar detector vector 965 vs. 955?
  Is the beltronics bel vector 965 worth the extra $20 over the beltronics bel vector 955?

  A:Either unit will work well. For $20 the 965 gives you a little more detection range. I would spend the 10% extra for the 965, but realize that spending a lot of money on a radar detector will not help you. The only way to avoid tickets using a radar detector is to understand the environment in which radar guns and radar detectors operate. Hills, trees, low vehicle profiles and traffic are your best friends.
