100% Q: writing topics?
okay so, i'm entering a writing contest. The thing is that i have no clue what to write about. can you give me some SERIOUS topics, i mean don't be stupid. i have some ideas but i want it to apeal to a wider audiance rather than 15 year olds. adults will be judging so i have no ideaaaa.
oh and it has to be somthing really good because i have to write 5 pages..yes 5 effing pages! hey $200 and certifcates for college, i think its worth it.
A:First off, you HAVE to write about something you know about. So you'll have to write about something from a 15 y/o perspective. Writing from that point of view doesn't mean it has to be targeted to that age group thought.
So what would anyone want to read about that a fifteen year old has to say?
Everything. Here's what I would like to hear about from your perspective. What kind of country are you inheriting from us older generations? Is Evolution vs Intelligent design an issue. And which side do you stand on. Whose the ugliest teacher in your school (do they have warts and gnarly hair). What about drugs. What about sex.
So anything is ok as long as you're articulate enough to get your point across.

100% Q: What are some journal-writing topics I could use?
I write every night in my journal, and I'm running out of topics. I usually write based off of an inspiring quote, a place, object, weather, "rhetorical" questions, etc.
There's no "right" answer for this! I just need new topics to write about, it can be about anything really. That's the beauty of creative writing! :]
Thanks so much!
A:There is an excellant website journalingprompts.com that offers journal prompts.

100% Q: Can you help me with my writing topics?
I love to write fan fics(anime) but I can't get any good ideas lately. I'm keeping a writing journal to help me with my creativity and to help beat writers block but I can't think of any topics to write short entries about. Can you help? The animes I write about are: Naruto and Inuyasha. If you could could you suggest an anime to base it in too? Thanks!

A:A story, whether it's anime, a novel, short story, or screenplay, is started with some of the following:
1) Premise
This is when you ask, "What would happen if?" Anything can get you started with it. The author of "Lord of the Rings" started his when he wrote about a hole in the ground on a piece of paper. He had no clue what it meant, he simply wrote it. Then he started asking "what would happen if..." something lived in it? Then it grew into "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings". Brainstorm, read the news, and start asking what if questions to develop the premise of your story.
2) Setting
You can set your story anywhere, on Mars, in the past on Earth, in the future on a starship, anywhere. Even thinking about the setting can help you to develop the premise.
3) Multiple Characters
Almost all stories contain multiple characters to play off of the values of the others. Start thinking about characters and what they want and this will also help you to develop your story. Ask lots of "what would happen if?"
4) Inciting Incident
This is where you story begins that turns your story's world upside-down and forces your character to set it straight. Then your character will begin a quest to reach an object of desire. Thinking about an inciting incident can also be your premise: "What would happen if a shark ate someone and the partially-eaten body ends up on the beach?" Jaws.
These points should help you to get started.
