100% Q: How long after a wedding ceremony would you schedule the reception?

I have no clue what I am doing and trying so hard to figure this out! If i was getting married at 3:30, and the ceremony lasts about 30- 45 minutes, and the reception hall is 20 minutes away, how long should expect pictures to take?? like would 5 or 530 be a good time to have the reception hall booked for?

A:Try to have the reception as soon after the wedding as possible, especially if you have out of town guests that will have nothing to do until the reception begins. If you want to, it would be good to tell these guests that they can go to the reception hall and then it will not matter how long it takes for you to have the pictures taken. 100% Q: What time should we host our reception, we eloped so there is no wedding to schedule around.?

We would like to do it at 5pm, so that any elder people or those who are traveling aren't forced to stay late. The only thing is we want to serve heavy h'ourderves and not dinner.

A:then have it at 2 pm on a Saturday and give people a few weeks notice so they can get off work.

100% Q: WEDDING schedule needed for a bride to be...for reception?

I am wondering if anyone has a bulletpointed wedding program that they used... Need ideas of when to cut cake, money dance, throw bouquet, do father daughter dance, etc... Anyone have any advice or schedule??

A:Well, usually the wedding program covers the schedule for the ceremony, not the reception ... not that you couldn't do it if you really wanted to, but I've never heard of it myself. This was the order we used: -Guests went to reception and had appetizers while wedding party was having pictures taken. -Grand Entrance -Best Man & Maid of Honour Toasts -Grace -Dinner -Cut the Cake -Bride & Groom First Dance -Brother-Sister Dance (Father-Daughter) -Mother-Son Dance (Guests were served cake while dances were going on). We didn't do a money dance, or the bouquet tosses or anything like that. However, if I was going to, I probably would have waited an hour or so (time for bride and groom to mill around and greet guests) and then done any or all of these: Bridal Party or Anniversary Dance Toss Bouquet Toss Garter Money Dance. The only advice I'd give is that I would keep all of the events toward the beginning of the reception ... I've been to a couple of weddings where that didn't happen, and lots of guests missed some of the special events because they didn't know if or when they were happening, and went home early. Plus, the earlier you get those things out of the way, the more you can kick back and just enjoy the last half of your reception, without worrying about what you're supposed to be doing.
