wedding reception itinerary
A wedding is a ceremony that celebrates the beginning of a marriage or civil union. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. In some countries, cultures and religions, the actual act of marriage begins during the wedding ceremony. In others, the legal act of marriage occurs at the time of signing a marriage license or other legal document, and the wedding is then an opportunity to perform a traditional ceremony and celebrate with friends and family. A woman being married is called a bride, a man called a groom, and after the ceremony they become a wife or a husband, respectively.....

100% Q: wedding reception itinerary?
Help! We're thinking about our reception itinerary, and are looking for help on what's going to happen. Toasts? Cake cutting? When will this all happen, and does anyone have any good ideas?
We're not going to be having a dance, and dinner will be served to our 100-120 guests around 4:30pm
A:There is are lots of different options for an order-of-events. Here is one suggestion:
-- Cocktail hour: serve appetizers and drinks while you finish getting pictures taken
-- Introduction of wedding party
-- Dinner service
-- Cake cutting
-- Toasts (while guests are enjoying cake)
-- Bouquet toss and garter toss
-- Farewell to bride and groom
You can look online for lots of good ideas. Here are a few different itineraries I found:

100% Q: where can I find a music itinerary for a wedding reception?
I am having a small wedding reception in just over a week, and I'm doing the music since we can't aford a DJ. I have a ton of songs in my private collection but have no idea as to what kind of order they should be in to play during the reception? I have looked everywhere to find like a pre-made list of songs that DJ's play for receptions, or parties, but no luck. Can anyone help me out with this?
Thanks!!!

100% Q: What is a cool Itinerary for my Wedding Reception?
Hey peeps - I'm over the usual program for wedding receptions. My fiancé and I would rather change it up. Here's what I had in mind:
1. Pre-Dinner Cocktails + Live Piano Performance
2. Introduction of Bridal Party
3. Bride & Groom First Dance (with all other guests to join in)
4. Take our seats, introduction by the MC
5. Speeches (best man, maid of honor, father of the bride, father of the groom, anyone else who cares, groom)
6. Dinner is served and everyone continues on the p!ss up :)
7. Entertainment during dinner (wedding singer, brazilian dancers, singing volunteers fom friends/guests) - any other suggestions!?
8. Cutting of the cake
9. Throwing the bouquet and the lace thingy
10. Desert and dancing
11. Bride & Groom send off.
That's our thoughts. But the thing is - we don't have any ideas for entertainment - anyone have been to any cool weddings? Your suggestions would be awesome.
A:I love it. It sounds very much the norm to me though. What is so very different? I love all the live performers. However for entertainment--tell us a little bit about your wedding. What are your cultures? What is your wedding theme or colors? What is the overall feel? I think brazilian dancers is an awesome and very unique idea--but it will be a little risque and are either of you brazilian?
I've seen many Indian weddings with belly dancers and I've been to a Renaissance wedding with dancing and sword swallowing. A Scottish wedding had bagpipes. I went to a Valentine's Day wedding that had a harp player with some flute players accompanying. Then again I've seen some crazy weddings on tv that had contortionists. Tropical feel might want steel pan drums or hula dancers.
The entertainment really needs to feel like part of the wedding and you want to set the feel of the wedding with the entertainment. However you don't want to go so far overboard that the guests feel they can't talk to each other. After all this is the opportunity for both sides to meet and talk to each other.
What are you thinking would suit your wedding? I'm sure whatever you pick would be incredible. And it doesn't have to be unique. There is nothing you can pick that will have never been done before but it will be unique b/c it is YOUR wedding.

100% Q: Open Bar for Wedding Reception??
Okay, I'm getting married at the end of June, and my fiancee and I want to follow this itinerary for the reception. We have to bring in our own alcohol for the reception, and we cannot charge for it, since the reception hall only has a consumption license, not a sales license for liquor.
5-6pm Open bar, whiskey, vodka, gin, brandy, scotch, rum and mix available, along with keg beer and various wines.
6-7 Dinner hour - no alcohol available except for champagne toast.
7-9 Open bar, same as 5-6pm.
9-? No liquor, but beer and wine will be available.
We can't afford to feed everyone hard liquor all night long, not to mention worrying about drunks gettiing behind the wheel. We're getting our kegs for practically nothing.
My question is - does this sound reasonable, and also, how should we communicate it to the guests. They can bring in their own liquor if they need to drink hard alcohol after 9pm.
Thanks for any help/advice you can provide.
This is not being held at a bar. It's being held at a hotel with a reception hall, but the hotel does not have a restaurant or a bar in it. We will be catering food in.
A:In stead of limiting the liquor after a certin hour, why don't you just limit the drinks to 3 or 4 mixed drinks. That's what were doing. We picked margaritas, pina coladas, mojitos, and sangria, along with beer. We figured guys for the most part tend to drink beer. The liquor drinkers tend to be women, so we decided on the above drinks. We tried to pick a drink that would please most. This way we'll be really limiting what we have to buy. i hope this helps.
