A:Some simple fish, hardy, and beautiful would be great. Some bettas are light colored, an appear white. These could last in the small bowls for a day or two, but can't live in there. Fancy Guppies also come in light colors, many are white. platies, mollies, and swordtails are not recommended since they are jumpers, but they are beautiful fish that are available in white. (If you decided to get these, lyretail mollies and swordtails are absolutely beautiful.) Platinum Lyretail Molly is a hardy white molly. These are all beautiful fish. They're hardy and can survive in the little bowls(if you plan on using these)

A:Big vases with colored gems in the bottom and water with floating candles. Another good idea is to get all different kinds of vases so that every table is a little different.

A:I went to Michael's, a craft store. We were on a tight budget also. I made 17 centerpeices. I did the following. I kept my eye out for sales for one. I bought silk ivory rose garland... the kind on the green plastic "chain". On sale they were $6 each. I bought 5 of them. Then I bought small "fishbowl" glass bowls with a fluted edge. They were $1 each. I also bought floating flower candles. They were $4 for a bag of 9. I made "candle rings" from the rose garland by taking about 10" garland and cutting it at the plastic chain. I took that and made a ring out of it and secured it with twist ties like the ones that come with smaller garbage bags. Then I simply filled each bowl with water and added the floating candle. They were very simple, elegant and inexpensive. If you wanted to, you could color the water with food coloring to match your colors. If you go online to ebay and look at candle rings, they looked exactly the same, sometimes nicer and they were so inexpensive. I only used 3 garlands for the actual centerpieces, I used the rest for other areas of the hall. Total cost $43 for 17 centerpieces... that is $2.52 each. I put 2 on each table and scattered lavender silk flower petals and purple hershey's kisses on the tables. It was awesome. I love the glitter idea. My colors were lavender and ivory. I used ivory candles in the water because I couldn't find my color. Best of luck to you. I wish I had a picture to send to you. I wish I knew you so I could send you all of them. A:I bought some at Tuesday Mornings for the same thing. Here is the URL to find the closest one to you: http://www.tuesdaymorning.com If there isn't one close, sometimes Big Lots has them, but it is hit & miss. Places like Hobby Lobby carry them but the price will be much higher than the two above mentioned places. Depending on how many you will need, you may wish to contact a local wholesaler for florists. If you are buying 6 or more, they may sell to you. I wouldn't suggest eBay unless you can find someone near by that will allow you to pick up. The shipping for large vase can cost more than the vase. If you live in larger city, you might want to check around some of the bridal shops. You might get a lead on someone else who just went through the same thing, and might be more than happy to sell theirs. After all what do you do with a dozen matching oversized vases? ;-)
