A:I didn't, but my sister did. It turned out very nice, and from what I could tell, no one could tell the difference between that and another self-owned bakery (however, you should not expect it to rival the high-end gourmet bakeries). They have general set-ups and decorations, but you can also present your own ideas, add colors into it, or use flowers to decorate. What I would suggest is to just get a very plain cake, and decorate it using fresh flowers. It looks beautiful and colorful, but you can cut your cost down if you or someone you know feels confident doing the decorating. Alternately, ask around in groups of people you know, or ask at a local hobby store, to see if anyone bakes and decorates wedding cakes privately. My stepmom's sister baked ours, and it was delicious, and beautiful. And cheap.

A:A friend of mine got a wedding cake from wal mart for her reception ( I only know because I helped assemble it) and it was better than a lot of expensive cakes I have had at other weddings. We just took her wedding flowers (roses) and cut the stems short, and pressed them in just far enough to make them stay. No one knew and there was no cake left... only the top layer that the bride and groom keep. Honestly, a lot of people won't even try the wedding cake... they are to busy eating everything else! Don't worry about what they think... just keep it to yourself and who ever helps assemble it (your mom would be perfect!).

A:I would try for the grocery store first only because Walmart doesn't exactly have a floral department - - they usually only have bunches of flowers that you can buy (and thats not in all the stores even).
