I have just been called by Walgreens for an interview for cashier position. Does anyone work there and could tell me approx the starting wage? I have about 8 years cashier experience/ Also, are there any other perks (profit-sharing, 401k, etc..)? This is a part time position.

A:When I worked at Wal-greens part time (several years ago) I started at 6.10 an hour. I was part time and (as with most part time positions) benefits were not available through the company.

I am working on a paper for my economics class, and so far I think that Walgreens could best be described as a monopolistic competitor. Is there a better answer?

A:They're not a monopolistic. They compete against CVS, Rite Aid, Wal Mart... Comcast is somewhat a monopoly where I live...pretty much the only cable company in town other then dish TV, but Comcast has the Blazers on TV and Dish and Direct TV customers can't get it. So Comcast controls the market in Portland. The NFL, and NBA are monopolistic in their respective sports, but they have anti-trust exemptions.

In the state of florida, what is the basic, starting out pay rate at walgreens? I know the minimun wage is 6.79 for florida, but how much does walgreens offer? As a first time job in walgreens as a beauty advisor. Thanks. Please no guessing :), thanks.

A:Ive been a BA there for almost a year. I started at 7.75 PLUS comission which is about 40 a check extra. After 6 mos. I got a 50 cent raise. I work 40 hours a week and pull out about a 650$ check.

100% Q: How do I get large retail tenants such as Walgreens to lease my building?

I am planning to develop my property but I would like to have a big-store tenant such as Walgreens to sign a lease before I start building. Any advice would be appreciated. THANKS!

A:Retail chains like Walgreens, CVS and Rite-Aid have a tremendous real estate portfolio. One article I read about a year ago in Business Weekly said that Walgreens was looking to open 7,000 locations by 2010. Large corporations like this typically not only have a corporate real estate division to manage all of this work (leases, renewals, real estate legality issues, etc.) but usually have one national broker to represnt them and to help channel the work to all the different states since it would be a nightmare to try and find a broker per state. I would isolate a preferred tenant list, do a quick search on where their home offices are located, give them a call and see if you can pitch them your vacant property. Be prepared to have market statistics like other stores in the plaza, sales for the area, crime stats, etc. Your broker should be able to put a market report together for you quite quickly that describes your area and the revenue potential. Remember, these are not mom and pop stores. Decisions are made by committee not by one person. It may take 6-12 months for their business unit to come to a decision. Pitch positively, be as prepared as the larger mall developers and you should see results. 100% Q: Whats a great face wash you can buy at walgreens thats really good for your skin?

I already have medicated salicylic acid washes, but I'm looking for a face wash thats not for acne, and is good for your skin, maybe some vitamins, moisturizers, or other good stuff to brighten and improve skin. Oh and I'd like to buy it at walgreens, or walmart, or target. I was thinking St. Ives apricot wash but I already have the medicated one, I wonder if its the same thing.

A:Acne Free or Klean Action are two good brands, I found that acne free works better for me.
