50% Q: Where can I get information on USPS-approved mailbox locations?
We have a front gate that leads to our entry porch. Can we install a mailbox next to our front door, or does the mailbox need to be accessible from the street?
A:Before you move your mailbox, you must go see or speak to your local Postmaster and get his approval. This move must be approved BEFORE you can actually move it. If you need some info, you can visit www.usps.com. Keep in mind, though, the website will only provide you with general info. Not only does your mailbox need to be in a specific place, it also must meet height requirements which are set by your Postmaster. Even if your mailman/woman tells you to move it (even if he says it will make your job easier), or you ask and he says it's okay, your mailman/woman does NOT have the authority to make this decision. If you move your mailbox without the Postmaster's permission, or it doesn't meet the requirements of where your mailbox should be placed, your mail will NOT be delivered until you make the necessary adjustments. Hope this helps.

33% Q: How do I do a multiple package shipment, to the same location, using USPS?
I cant seem to find online anywhere how to create a mulitple shipment package, to the same location (different box dimensions and weight)? I use USPS online EVERY day, and cant seem to find the info anywhere? Using Fed Ex, it asks you "how many boxes in the shipment". With the USPS, I have no clue where to add this info, or do I have to create seperate shipments?
A:You will have to create separate shipments, with each package properly labeled and paid for. USPS does not have the multiple package shipment option

66% Q: Does the location of postmark (USPS) reflect where the mail originated?
I got a letter with a return address of Maryland, but the postmark stamp is Denver, CO - a city near to where I live. I'm trying to figure out if the letter did indeed originate in Maryland. Thanks all.
A:Both of the other answers are wrong. It could have been sent from MD and missed being canceled there and was picked up in CO and was cancelled there. What is the date of the Postmark? if it is just a day or 2 before you got it, it was canceled in CO. If it is a date 3-5 days ago, then it was more likely mailed in MD. We commonly cancel stamps that were missed at other areas when we see them. It is because people think that they can reuse a stamp that did not get canceled. That is another incorrect assumption.
