Tell him, " I realize that the car is worth what you're asking but I only have $$$ to spend, will you take it? " 2. Find similar cars in newspaper ads, online, and in "autotrader" magazines that are selling for less money, and show him your findings. 3. He probably only used one source for his price evaluation. Find other sources such as kbb.com, nadaguides.com, and edmunds.com that have lower prices -- and print the results to show to the seller. 4. If he insists on the higher price, give him your name and number and tell him to call you later if he decides to lower his price.

A:With a dealer, you're going to pay for Profit, taxes, and dealer fees. With a private seller, it's much easier to get a good price. Unless they are just completely insane and want stupid money for their vehicles. http://www.kbb.com is a great resource in determining the approximate value of a particular vehicle. NADA is way over the money, but for some reason banks and insurance companies use it. Be sure to subrtract if the vehicle needs tires, brakes, belts, battery, or anything else like that. Just like when you're closing on a house. Keep in mind, payoff and value have NOTHING to do with each other. If they are trying to get you to pay just pay-off, look into it very carefully. And remember this: If they owed nothing, would want nothing? Have the vehicle thouroughly checked out, no matter where you buy. A:Here is a site called Craigslist.com and its great to get anything on. I have gotten a few trucks and a car off of it and turned around and was able to fix them up and sell them for more then I got them cause of the condition they were in or it was something simple that my husband can fix and that was that. But most people sell new and used cars and trucks of all kinds and some dont even know about the easy fixes either. So have fun looking.
