100% Q: Requirements to travel to Mexico and back...non US Citizen with Green Card.?

I am getting married in Mexico and my friend who wants to go is not a US Citizen but has a Green Card. Does anyone know what type of travel documents she needs in order to go to Mexico and back? She is a citizen of Mexico. Thanks

A:If you are fly/ing to mexico, your friend will need to use her Mexican passport and carry her green card. Passports are mandatory for everyone flying between the U.s. and Mexico.l For some reason MANY people who have green cards in the U.s. seem to think they no longer need to keep their passports from their home country...but they DO! Actually, they are required to. If your friend does not have a Mexican passport, she will need to contact the nearest Mexican embassy or consulate to apply for one. If you are driving to Mexico, passports are not needed until after summer 2008. See 1st website below for passport regs, read top half of page for current info. See 2nd site for list of Mexican consulates in the U.S. in case your friend needs it. The other answerer is mistaken..of course she needs to carry her Mexican passport with her...just having it is not magic, you must have it WITH you to fly internationally...just like you will need an American passport if you fly.

100% Q: us permanent resident visa requirements for cruise to mexico?

I'm planning to go on a cruise to mexico and was wondering if I need a visa? My country of citizen is NOT one of those who generally do not need a visa to Mexico but I am holding a US greencard (permanent residence). I called the rep @ cruise; she told me to call mexico embassy which I did and nobody returned my call. Anybody knows if passport and greencard would be sufficient for my travel?

A:I answered your previous question. i just now went back to look at the list of countries that do and do not need visas to visit Mexico and found something new. Under the list of countries that do NOT need a visa, it says," this option also applies for permanent legal residents of the U.S. " So you do NOT need a visa. 100% Q: What are the NEW Mexico entry requirements by air?

Hi, Does anyone know the CORRECT new law for what is needed to enter Mexico by air??? Is anybody planning a trip there soon and knows the answer? I have heard that a passport is needed for everybody who tries to enter Mexico as of Jan 23, 2007. Is that true? Because according to some web sites, like travel.state.gov here what is says: Passport, OR proof of citizenship (such as original birth certificate or naturalization certificate) and photo ID. I know about the new passport requirement when entering or re-entering US, but what about Mexico? Please help!

A:Very simple - you need a passport. It's not just re-entering the US. You can't leave the US by air without one.

Hi, My friends and I will be traveling to Mexico by land the next weekend and I had a few questions... I did my research online but wanted to triple check before going on with the trip... *I read that we each require passport/birth certificate and a valid photo ID. Is this enough to cross to Mexico and back into the US? *Most of us are 18 but there are a few 17 year olds amongst us. Is that going to be a problem? Will they require that we all be 18? *Are travel visas required for all of us? We will only be staying 2 days and 1 night. If they are required, where can we get them and how much do they cost? *I heard that it is not necessary or recommended to exchange currency. Is this true? I don't need to have ANY money in Mexican currency? *Any hotel recommendations in Tijuana? Thank you in advance for good answers! =)

A:ok, I have been to Mexico several times with my family. Yes, you all need a passport/birth certificate and a photo id. However, if some of you are 17 (minors), you will need a letter of consent from BOTH parents/guardians acknowledging that they know of their going outside the US. The letters must be notarized. No, you do not need a visa, if your stay is that short. Lastly, you should change at least some money. Most places will probably take your dollars, but they will charge you higher prices. Just change a little if you still want to pay in dollars in case you go to a place where they won't take your American dollars. Good luck and have fun!

100% Q: what I need to enter Mexico as a Trinidadian citizen studying in the US?

I am a student studying in the Unites States and a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago. I would like to visit Mexico in the next two weeks for vacation for a week and was wondering what I need in terms if requirements for entry to Mexico.I have a valid US student visa (F1), passport issued in Trinidad, I-20 as well. SInce I will be traveling from New York to Mexico, do I go through immigration or not and what will be required of me?If I am to get a visa what do I need to do and more importantly how long does it take for one to obtain a visa to Mexico.If you can get back to me as soon as possible I would greatly appreciate it, since I need to plan my trip. A:You probably should go to a Mexican consulate and apply for a tourist visa. If you don't then when you land in Mexico you will have to go through immigration. The people there will issue a tourist visa upon entry maybe, but maybe not and then you will have to turn around and go back. So it is always best to apply for the tourist visa before you leave. That way when you go through immigration, you'll just show them your Trinidad passport and your visa and they'll let you in.
