100% Q: Is it illegal to use a business's logo when they donate to your non-profit?
I am receiving donations for a fundraising event from various local businesses and franchises. I am going to make a booklet exhibiting each donation and I wanted to put the patrons business logo on the page. Is this legal? For instance, Chili's Restaurant made a donation, can I put the logo at the top of the page??
A:Its not illegal and most non-profits do it in this situation. One of the reasons that businesses donate to fundraising events is because its a feel-good way of marketing their business. You may have already found out that the marketing department often handles donations, for just that reason. Also, if this is a recurring event acknowledging your contributers early, often, and publicly is the best way to ensure that you get repeat donations. Ask your contributors for digital images of their logos. That way you get the best quality, you display the logo the way they prefer it, and they know exactly how you plan to acknowledge their contribution. Good luck with your event!

100% Q: Do the Phillies realize they are members of MAJOR League Baseball?
It all starts from the top. The ownership of this franchise is so stubborn and inept that it's no wonder that the team on the field backs into the results that come from operating on the cheep. Lieberthal, Burrell, Abreu, Bell, and the most undiscipline batter in the world, Rollins need to go. But the point I'm trying to make is that the organization is in the business of making money on the sale of baseball tickets and that's it. I wish Steinbrenner owned this team. Your thoughts please. Thank you.
P.S. To Edgecution: If you want to call someone an idiot, have some backbone and enable your I.M. or e-mail.
A:Just so everyone knows but the Philles are probably the worst organization in professional sports.
1. They have the oldest continual used name in all of sports (1890-present)
2. Within that time they have won 1 title that an average of 1 title ever 116 years so all you Cubs, Red Sox and what ever you can all be relieved you are not a Phillies Fan
3. They were so cheap that at one point they purchased Sheep to cut the grass
4. They have lost more games then any other Organization with 9879 that an average of losing 85 games a year.
So I agree they are a bad organization.
Signed Phillies Fan Forever
PS I'm so glad they won their only title in my lifetime
