A:I worked for Target for 3 years as a softlines Team Lead. It was fun, new store, high morale, exciting...I was a loyal employee, and changed my schedule frequently to help out. I always had above average on my reviews, and always had an increase in my department, RTW. I was let go/fired/terminated because of an incident involving a team member. This person constantly made fun of people,i.e. handicap ed, overweight,ethnicity, plus his everday actions were intolerable. Bad me for not documenting all the incidents. Well, everyone burst out laughing, but I didn't. I said," So you think that's funny? What if I said to you, why don't you go home and enjoy some stereotypical foods that represent you race! How would you feel!?" I did not say any foods, only that statement, and by the way, I am white and he is black. I got so angry, and I was so tired. I stepped towards him and pushed his shoulder. I implicated myself by talking to the store manager the following day. I was trying to let them know about this person, and that he needs to stop the behavior. Well, they called corporate, and they had to fire me based on the fact that I put my hands on someone, "reckless behavior". I know they had to do that because I said what I said. I felt so upset, I cried. They told me that I didn't have to be escorted out of the store. Now what does that say? To top it off, he still works there. Your origional questions...Yes they have good benefits, health 401K match, paid holidays. Those were Team Lead benefits. Sales floor may be different. Interview questions were simple. A:Hi, I've been working at Target for four years now. I'm currently a softlines (clothing) team leader (equivalent to manager) I got promoted to this position I would say four months ago. To answer your question, I have been content with the way target runs things. I love how they are all about team work and maximising relationships. They do promote from within, but of course this comes with performance. Their benefits package is moderate, but for team members this only comes in a year. (Team Leaders get it right away on hire) Raises come at 90 days, year, and then year anniversaries, all based on performance of the e's of excellence. Tuition reimbursement is offered again, only to team leaders and execs, so sorry about that. The discount is 10%, which kind of sucks! I think that's all you need to know.
