side effect of zoloft
Tourette syndrome (also Tourette's syndrome or TS) is an inherited neurological disorder with onset in childhood, characterized by the presence of motor and phonic tics. Treatment of Tourette syndrome has the goal of managing symptoms to achieve optimum functioning, rather than eliminating symptoms; not all persons with Tourette's require treatment, and there is no cure or universally effective medication.[1][2][3] Explanation and reassurance alone are often sufficient treatment;[2] education is an important part of any treatment plan.[4]....

Not that I'm complaining, but I have lost 7 kilos in 3 months of being of Zoloft. Just wondering is this a side effect or is something else causing it?
A:Like other medicines, ZOLOFT can cause some side effects. If they occur, most are likely to be minor and temporary. However, some may be serious and need medical attention.

These symptoms are usually rare but may be serious and need urgent medical attention.

100% Q: How serious is the sexual side effect of ZOLOFT?
I'm just about to start taking ZOLOFT, and I'm totally frustrated hearing about all the possible side effects of it, especially impotency and probable permanent arousing disorders. how serious is it?
A:It delays ejaculation greatly so it can actually help in that area with prolonging things. It definitely does that. You can go longer. I'm using zoloft and androgel so they kinda counteract each other in that area.

100% Q: Is this a common side effect of Zoloft and will it go away?
I am now taking Zoloft becasue I have major depression and suicidal thoughts. I supposed to take 75mg every day. I have been taking it since Monday. I've not been as sad - but felt like all true emotions had left me. Like I can't love my family anymore, they are just nice people. I can't feel spiritual, I can't have faith, I can't be truly thankful or grateful of anyone. No creativity. I can't really feel hate either. I don't really care anymore. I just am kind of hyperactive, and blurt out innapropriate things, and talk loud and fast. I thought I may not be taking enough Zoloft, so today I took 100mg instaed of 75. I think that was wrong.
I am therefore can't talk to or see a doctor or therapist. I don't know what to do. Without Zoloft I could not make myself eat even, or talk. I'd hide my face in public. Now I can do those things, but am so empty. Is this normal and will the emptiness go away? Temporary? This just started when I started Zoloft.
Sorry, I can't call my doctor, I don't have a number. I don't have a car and no one is willing to drive me to ER. Already asked several people and one left, the other closed door in my face.
A:I was put on Zoloft years ago and it gave me the same side effects. That, and excessive yawing. I felt like a zombie. I don't know if it the symptoms were temporary or not. Didn't wait to find out - I went back to my doctor and he prescribed me something else and I'd suggest you do the same. Zoloft definitely not a fits-all drug.

100% Q: How long does it take for the side-effects of Zoloft to wear off.?
I was on Zoloft for 2 months. I experienced a side-effect, the inability to ejaculate, so my doctor switched me to another anti-depressant. How long will it take for the side-effect to wear off?
A:Of all of the SSRI meds, Zoloft has one of the shortest discontinuation recovery periods. Shouldn't take more that two weeks. However, don't be surprised if the new meds have the same side effect of the Zoloft. You may have to try several different kinds of anti-depresant medication before you find the right one. Be patient.
And, be sure that you are working with a competent psychiatrist that knows what s/he is doing. Often, general practitioners just keep throwing samples at you to see what will work or not work. I hope you don't have one of those. Depression is serious and requires that you work with a trained individual that specializes in it. It is also very helpful to have a good counseling psychologist working in tandem with your psychiatrist or doctor. Good luck.

100% Q: extreme sweating zoloft side effect?
I have been taking zoloft for about two weeks and i sweat like crazy. I've drank 90 ounces of water so far today so that I dont feel dehydrated and just to satisfy my dry mouth. Has anyone else experienced this?
A:I've been on Zoloft for a while now, and I sweat a lil bit more than usual, but I think that might be because of my anxiety aswell, and if you worry about sweating, you are just going to sweat more! I have the dry mouth problem sometimes, but if I use a particular brand of toothpaste, it goes away, weird huh.
