A:Bloody stool isn't an adverse reaction of Prozac nor is it a normal occurrence. While it may possibly be hemorrhoid-related, he should not ignore this. Do all you can to pursuade him to report this to his doctor.

A:I also had the sensation of something being lodged at the top of my throat for the first month or so of taking Prozac so unless it's a strange coincidence, I'd say it was a side effect. However, most of the time the sleepiness should disapper after a short period of time. If it does not she should contact her doctor, as her dosage may need to be adjusted. The other possiblity is if the sleepiness is interferring with her life, even though it is helping, they may want to discuss other medication options. "Some people experience side effects like nausea, difficulty sleeping, drowsiness, anxiety, nervousness, weakness, loss of appetite, tremors, dry mouth, sweating, decreased sex drive, impotence, or yawning. Most of these tend to go away within a few weeks of starting treatment and, in most cases, aren't serious enough to cause people to stop taking PROZAC (1). " and from another site came the following information: "What side effects may occur? Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Prozac.
