I have to clean my carpets! There are traffic stains everywhere. And also pee from my stupid dog. Does anyone know how much a Rug Doctor is to rent? Does it work as well as they say?

A:I love using the rug doctor. I am eventually going to buy one. The line of cleaning products that they have are fine, but I use regular Arm & Hammer detergent. It makes the house smell wonderful. If you have a house that is about 1500sq. ft., 24 hours should be ok. I have about 3200 sq. ft., so I rent it for 2 days. I hope that helps.

100% Q: Can I make Rug Doctor cleaning solution? What can I add to kill fleas?

I'm renting a Rug Doctor later today. There was a mention somewhere about making your own cleaning solution instead of buying it from the store. What would I use to make it? Also, is there something I can add to kill fleas in the carpet? Or is deep cleaning the rug good enough?

A:I would buy their solution because they have something in theirs to keep it from being too sudsy. This is what I would do. I would go to WalMart or somewhere and get some of those flea bombs and put them in my house right before I am to clean my carpet. That way you will have the whole house done and then you can clean the carpet. But remember that you may need to do the fleas two times because the eggs will not be killed and will hatch out later. So take that into account. Good luck. Oh and for the best smell ever go to your local Sam's Club and buy a jug of OdaBan and spray some around in your house. It smells great!!!! : ) Ms.

100% Q: Can I use a Rug Doctor on a microfiber couch and love seat?

We made a horrible mistake of getting a light tan color on our couch and loveseat. We cannot take the cushions off and our protection pla is expired. I was wondering if you get a Rug Doctor and the upholstery tool, will it ruin the material?

A:absolutely. that is what it is for. do the whole seat or couch...don't spot clean. it will stand out like a sore thumb

100% Q: Is the Rug Doctor able to clean under beds?

I am thinking about renting a rug doctor from the supermarket, but the machine is too big to clean under a bed about 1 foot above the carpet. Is there a hose on the Rug Doctor with an attachment that allows you to clean carpets under heavy furniture? Also please tell me some carpet cleaning companies that I can call to my house that do a great job. Thanks. I don't think I can move a bed as heavy as myself unless I have some help. It's not that easy to move furniture. Also please keep recommending cleaning companies because I might choose one. Stanley Steamer seems like the most popular one, but please tell me the pros and cons.

A:*sings* "stanley steamers gets carpets CLEANER!" I doubt the ones you rent at the grocery store are able to go under furniture, i have seen them but never used one. But, I know that even when you hire a professional carpet cleaner it's always customary to move all the furniture out of the way so he can easily clean those areas. So I believe the best way is to just move the furniture. Good luck.

100% Q: Can a rug doctor clean a mattress?

I need to clean urine spots from my dogs off my mattress the smell is gone but you can still see circles from where the pee was. i know the rug doctor comes with attachments but will it damage the mattress and make it moldy?

A:yes you can use a carpet cleaner on your mattress i have a bissell proheat carpet cleaner and when my son get sick all over his bed i cleaned on side and then the next day i cleaned the other side you just have to let it dry completely before you flip it are make your bed. hope this helps you...
