100% Q: Verizon cell phones. I am so mad! What would you do?

Moved into my apartment in May. Had a pretty good phone, but can't get reception. A friend of mine ownes a cell phone store, so he loaned me a total of 2 phones. Still no reception in the apartment. Today I spend $80.00 on a brand new refurbished phone & still no reception in this apartment. What do I do? Can Verizon do anything for me? I am so frustrated I hate it! Thanks. All the phones I've had worked outside of the apartment, in other buildings & in my car. My plan isn't up until March to make any changes.

A:There is nothing Verizon can do. Actually, it's not Verizon's fault, a lot of cell phones (from many different carriers) have bad reception in certian buildings, depending on what they're made out of. I used to have that problem when I had T-Mobile and I'd stay at a friends house. Her place had a lot of metal in and around it so it was hard to get a signal. I suggest when your contract is up, find a different carrier that offers a 30 day trial, so then you can try it and see if the carriers phone will work in your apartment. If it doesn't, you can get your money back.

My first cell phone broke- the speakers died two weeks after I got it. So my dad took it back to the Verizon store today. I wanted the same kind of phone, and the only ones they had of the same kind were refurbished ones. So I got a refurbished one. It's a VX8300 (if anyone else has that phone). So what I'm wondering is WHY phones are refurbished? Are refurbished phones as good as brand new phones? Guess what!? THE PHONE HAS ALREADY BROKE!!!!! I am outraged! Three out of the four buttons on the dial don't work today. So it's back to the Verizon store we go....And THIS TIME, I WON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF GETTING AN LG! LG phones are s***!

A:No, not really. New is new, by definition the refubished one is something that some one else already returned because it didn't work. They took it, fixed it, and in most ways made it like new but its still something someone returned. I'm surprised they did that. I would of though they would of given you the upgrade to the 8350.

If anyone tells me to google it I'm going to smack them! LOL. There's FAR too much spam to weed through I've already wasted so much time. I owe my mother a new one as I recently discovered that my Razr cannot swim. As, I had just recently moved out and didn't have a house phone yet, she insisted that I take her phone. To tell you the truth, the personal details really aren't important. I'm looking for the cheapest possible Verizon compatable cell phone. Nothing fancy. Just cheap.

100% Q: Refurbished cell phones off of Ebay? Are they a good deal???

I need a new cell phone but my with my verizon contract I'll have to wait another 8 months to get a new phone. I've been looking on Ebay and noticed BlackBerrys and Palm Treos on there for like 100-150 dollars. The sellers say that they are refurbished. I know what refurbished is but it seems like a tricky thing with phones. Can you help me if it is worth the 100 dollars to get a refurbished phone off of ebay or am I wasting my money to get a phone that won't work in a month? Is it really a good deal and a way to save some money or am I just wasting my time?

A:I refrain from purchasing refurbished electronics from a source that has no easy return policy (meaning not a local store). This item at some point did not function correctly so it would be a good idea to buy something like this from a place that you can return to.
