recycling projects
Paper recycling is the process of recovering waste paper and remaking it into new paper products. There are three categories of paper that can be used as feedstocks for making recycled paper: mill broke, pre-consumer waste, and post-consumer waste.[1] Mill broke is paper trimmings and other paper scrap from the manufacture of paper, and is recycled internally in a paper mill. Pre-consumer waste is material that was discarded before it was ready for consumer use. Post-consumer waste is material discarded after consumer use, including OM (old magazines), OTD (old telephone directories), and RMP (residential mixed paper).[2] Paper suitable for recycling is called "scrap paper".....

100% Q: does anyone know any recycling projects in manila?
i watched rated k last week and i discovered an eco friendly way of recycling products which are being started in the Philippines. any information where i can find one? and any informations about recycling here in Manila?
A:When I visited the Zero Waste Management Office in Quezon City, right there, I saw recycled leaves that were converted into plywood. As per explanation of Dr. Palaypay, seeds were embedded so that when the plywood owner throw the old ply woods, that's the time the seeds embedded there would grow.
Also, last year, when I joined our choir during the Earth Day Celebration in the Smokey Mountain, the officiating priest during the Mass announced that the first building with such plywood invention would be erected in that place.
Oh, aside from ply woods, when I went to Palawan and visited the Leper Colony, I was able to buy styro carvings made out of McDonald's and Jollibee's styro which were littered by the visitors. Oh, you should see it for yourself.

100% Q: What can be done to get restaurants and large housing projects to start recycling?
I work at a restaurant and hate that most of the trash is recyclable. I also live in a townhome community and would love it if we had several recycling bins next to our dumpsters. How does one become active into getting a fairly large city in on recycling?
A:I worked in a restaurant once, too, and the waste that went on was disgusting. What I did was start small.
Start with your own store, talk to the bosses tell them whats up, maybe have an employee meeting with the rest of the staff. I provided the bins and told them what could and should be thrown in there, and I took them home to recycle, too. Don't forget the office "trash". Now, I quit the job before I could take it very far but as it was going well, I was going to take my case to the corporate bosses and see if they were willing to start a recycling program. You will need to really sell the idea to them, if it costs them extra money, they won't go for it. So make sure you do some research, have a presentation set up, give them an incentive. That's about all I can suggest to you on that level.
As for your community, go around and see if others are interested in recycling as well, maybe have them sign their names to a petition. Then go to the community leaders or city officials and see what can be done about a recycling program, offer to do the research if it must be done. Go to your local waste management and ask them what might have to be done to get this going.
All in all, talk to as many people as you can, get the word out.
You could go to your local gov't leaders, but don't count on them to do anything about it, they haven't yet, right?
Don't rely on others to get this done, like Gandhi said "you must be the change you wish to see in the world."
good luck to you!

100% Q: I just started a paper recycling project in Canoga Park. What is the most cost effective way of advertising it
Start Zero Project is solely focused in recycling paper. This division has a sworn objective to help minimized the number of trees cut for worldwide consumption and to prevent paper waste from being dumped in the landfill where it degrades to produce methane which is a greenhouse gas. We offer free office recycling program evaluation/implementation, free bins, free pickup. Funds for ads is running low. Need at least free or cost effective way of advertisement.
A:I would suggest you should engage in some PR (Public Relations) rather than strictly advertising.
The local media in the areas you operate should be more than interested in this type of business given the increasing community consciousness of the environment. Perhaps draft a press release or try and arrange interviews with local press. This is pretty much no cost and could really boost business if you can sell the idea that your business is newsworthly.
Best of luck

100% Q: Is there a recycling center where businesses donate there leftover items for schools to use as craft projects?
There used to be a recycling center in Jamaica Plain, Ma. that teachers in the Boston area could go to and get items that they could use for craft projects. I went there about 14 years ago. I'm hoping there is another site like this near where I live in Canton, Ma.
Thanks
A:There is in the Hull UK it is called the scrap store. Anybody involved in a social enterprise pays a very low annual fee and a low trolley charge for materials donated by local businesses. Individuals can join if they work with socially disadvantaged kids. Often magizine gifts and other unwanted stock is donated too. Great place.
