100% Q: How would a python get a kidney infection and what is the diagnosis for it?

A friend has a python that has been diagnosed with a kidney infection. He was consistently shedding . I am curious how a python would get a kidney infection, how it would be diagnosed and what the treatment for it is. Does the snake have a good chance of recovery? I have found out that all infections caused in snakes are usually from stress and being kept at incorrect temperatures.

A:Kidney infections present with 'sloppy' stools. The feces should be dark and firm, and uric acid should be the consistency of 'cream cheese' when first excreted, but harden as the ecreted calcium solidifies. Although you don't give much detail I say, if in doubt - consult a veterinarian !

I am planning to by a ball python sometime in the near future. I am not sure yet what size its going to be when i buy it. I want to plan ahead and find out what would give a python an ideal habitat and enclosure to satisfy all of its needs.

100% Q: Can a ball python and an albino burmese python get along under any circumstances?

The ball python is a male, 4 years old, approx. 4 feet long. Good temperment when handled even around large groups, a little timid, wasn't handled too much in its earlier years prior to being owned by myself. The albino burmese python is a male, 3.5 months old, 2.5 feet long. Very friendly, has only nipped me twice. Never shown aggressive behaviour since the event.

A:i wouldn't count on it especially since the burmese will get about 5 times bigger than the ball but for now they probably wouldn't fight but i wouldn't risk it. never a good idea to mix different species. and burmese definetly can't grow to 35 to 40 feet whoever said that the get 30 at a maximum and that is really rare they average at about 20 to 25 feet total length even if they are fed rabbits or goats.

100% Q: How do you tell a African rock python from a ball or byrmese?

I was told he was a ball python but it seems to me that he would be to agressive as niether one of my other ball pythons are this agressive. He is about 2 feet long and 6 inches around his belly. He is fed every week 2 rats.

A:By the way they look, simply. The patterns are different, to an educated eye. I tried finding a good picture of an African Rock, but didn't have much luck. Burmese are pretty laid back for large snakes, but African Rocks are pretty darn agressive.
