Okay, here are the problems" For all: if a = 2 and b = -5 (3a)squared 3a squared (8b)squared 8b squared I will post more when I can get some help with these. I've been stressed tonight, and I really don't understand Pre-Algebra, it's my weakest subject. =( Serious answers only! Thanks you guys! This has helped me a lot! A:Order of operations is the key here. I usually use this PEMDAS which stands for parenthesis, exponents, multiplication/divisions (which ever comes first when going left to right) and addition/subtraction (which every comes first when going left to right) (3a)squared where you would do what is in the parenthesis first so: (3*2)squared (6) squared 36. 3a squared since there are no parenthesis, you would do exponents first so a squared which would be 2 squared= 4 and then that is 3*4 which is 12 (8b) squared same with #1 where you do parenthesis first so (8*-5) squared which is (-40) squared which is 1600 8b squared no parenthesis so exopenents -5 squared is 25 8*25 is 200 Hope that helps you!

I'm sorry, but I don't get how to get rid of the exponent. The problem is, Solve R= s*s(squared, but i can't find that on my keyboard)/A for s to write a formula when R and A are known.

A:R=s^2/A Multiply by A. R*A=s^2 Take the square root. square root (R*A) = s ( or s=(R*A)^(1/2) )
