You will lose weight on this drug - especially if you take it on an empty stomach in the morning with only a sip of water. No coffee, tea, coke, etc. Just water. A:No, that is probably a sign to stop taking that. It is so not good for you and can cause heart problems! Diet pills do not work! Your body will get use to them and you will need additional help for it to work. Then when you stop taking them you will gain 2x as much weight as you lost to begin with, and your metabolism will slow down dramatically! It's not worth your life, been there done that! A:I have been taking it long term....4 1/2 years to be exact. I take it because I am always tired and have no "get up and go" on my own. I too do not take it on the weekends and have spells where I go off of it for a few weeks in between prescriptions. It is used for people who have narcolepsy, sleep apnia and also used for people who work the graveyard shift. It stimulates your central nervous system and makes you more alert and have more energy.
