But in my experience dealing with the average person on the internet they have a tendency to embellish a bit too much. Overall I think it's great for people are socially inept for the most part, or don't have the time to pursue a relationship via normal channels, normal meaning friends hook you up.

A:Online dating is a crapshoot at best. Most of the ones I've found so far let you join for free to "browse their members". As soon as you've joined, your profile is "viewed" by potential candidates and some "send you messages" to get you to log in and pay to read these messages. Of course, what's really happening is they hook you with the free browsing, then bots send you messages to get you to pay for their service. The only loser in this scam is you, having dumped money into this boiler-room operation... You get what you pay for......is all too true.
