100% Q: Help, need some answers for my Network Marketing/MLM business!?
I am involved in a company where all the numbers line up well, I really enjoy the products and services (used them before I ever got in the business side) and I am beginning to sign up people. The issue I am having however is that the opportunity is presented where I stand to do really well by signing up only 3 people in my downline who also do the same for 7 levels deep. Here is the problem i see...for this to work, those people on my 7th level must all have the same opportunity as I do, and their 7th level people must have the same opportunity as well. Well, at my level 25, using a 3x3 matrix, that requires over 847 million people!!! So, that is never going to happen...so it seems like ALL Network Marketing/MLM Companies have this same problem that the opportunity can not continue to grow and are destined to fail. Help me understand how any Network Marketing/MLM company doesn't have the same problem? All answers greatly appreciated.
A:The above answer is classic! Show any MLMer the numbers and suddenly you shouldn't look at them at face value. Gimme a break! Its supposed to be a business oppotuntity...in business you analyze profit, revenue, expenses, your market, but not in MLM. Whenever those numbers prove poor in MLM you shouldn't take them at face value. If you can't make a living selling your own product without sponsoring other people, run, its merely destined to fail like all other MLMs. Your numbers hit the nail on the head of the MLM fallacy. They want so bad to claim its not a pyramid but as soon as the people at the bottom cannot sponsor anyone else and make money, the whole things fails. They will tell you that all companies are a pyramid, but the reality is all companies don't need to keep getting new employees just to pay the other employees, they actually don't even need to grow to be sustainable. Not with MLM. Look at this naive Mexico4me fellow..he totally tries to direct attention away from the obvious flaws in the numbers by trying to draw comparisons to growth in any company. How ridiculous is that as an answer? Those companies had periods of growth, and that was in sales of product, not signing up your brother-in-law, your aunt, and your best friend. MLM people ALWAYS try to make comparisons to real world businesses and somehow think this makes their experiments in MLM a viable business, its a joke. The fact is, no MLM company can expand at the rate that they say is needed to make you a millionaire. Of course, they will all tell you they make more millionaires than any other business opportunity and all sorts of other unproven propaganda to convince the naive, but don't you be fooled. Good luck.

100% Q: Why do people in MLM/Network Marketing proclaim they are making so much money yet need to spam every question?
Literally, you cannot post a question in small business or careers & employment without getting one of them spamming you with their business opportunity, yet these are the same people who supposedly are making money hand over fist? What is the deal, and do any of these people actually think decent people want to get into a business that requires nonstop spamming? Why is it only people in MLM feel the need to announce they are making all this money...no other business does that. ***Rich F, LMAO! You are a spam artist spamming about Melaleuca!!! Is there a worse MLM company out there than Melaleuca? Oh please. I love how in one of your answers you profess it involved "no selling". Priceless! No selling, so what, you just are a pure pyramid or its just morons like you buying? No sales...please. LOL. That is the problem with MLM you dolt...no one is good enough to sell the product on their own so you need to sign up others to get paid. Man, I pity your mentality.
A:Well, now you have gone and done it. Someone named Mexico4me (the queen of all MLM spammers) will inevitably post an answer telling you how clueless you are and make all sorts of assumptions about you having a job and looking up to your boss and so forth...just wait, she can't resist...she is the classic case of the spam you speak of...quite amusing actually. You don't need to look farther than jarsoflig's or Rich F's answers to see that sorry mentality of MLMers. Anyone who questions their foolish business is automatically filled with "hatred", doesn't "know anything about MLM", or " is clueless". These type of comments are perhaps some of the most ironic since anyone with any business intelligence realizes quickly the faults of the whole MLM sham. Of course, they will continue to call anyone names who doesn't agree with them and they act like children whose parents were just insulted. You see, they can't refute logic and intelligence, so they resort to name calling and trying to belittle YOUR knowledge. Its quite amusing and looks very poor on them. The only people who believe the crap MLMers spew are naive fools or MLMers themselves. Of course no one wants to join them because spamming is actually among the more respectable things they do.

100% Q: Are there actually people out there still thinking about network marketing/mlm?
Has it been proven enough yet that these generally are set up as ponzi schemes, and those that are actually legal have products that no one could make a living selling on their own, thus making the recruiting part necessary? I am sure there are those who will respond with their company being the best and wanting to get my email etc...or those who are making big bucks but won't show me a financial statement despite calling this a business opportunity (who would start a business without seeing operating statements?). But I want to hear from those who are actually convinced about network marketing/mlm without having to sort through the above mentioned replies. So, is anyone out there, or is is this industry dead? ibofightback - thanks for the answer, but going over your numbers I had to comment. You say Network Marketing Firms distribute over $100 billion a year in goods and services and there are 8-10 million distributors...well simple division means that is $10,000-$12,000 annual sales/distributor!!! Even at 50% commission you could earn more with minimum wage in a year! With all due respect, your numbers give more credence to the belief that network marketing/mlm is a pure ponzi scheme than anything I have heard. It seems to me more than ever that the issue with network marketing/mlm is that its all about recruiting others to do the work, and not selling the products themselves. Of those 8-10 million distributors, how many can possibly be distributing enough on their own merit to make a living? Its all about making money off the efforts of others isn't it?
A:Hi there, The industry is still growing around the world. Like any industry it has its ups and downs, but if you find a decent company with decent products, then it works. If a company is indeed promoting some product or products that you could sell without the "scheme", then be skeptical. The FTC would certainly look unfavorably upon them. But if you look at companies like the granddaddy of MLMs, Amway/Quixtar, it has products like Nutrilite that have the backing of folk like Asafa Powell - world 100m sprint record holder. And they didn't approach him - his brother got him on the products! Nutrilite is now the biggest nutritional brand in the world - and you can only get it from Quixtar in North America. To quote one site I found with stats on MLM - There are in excess of 1,000 Network Marketing firms that distribute over $100 billion a year in goods and services. It is estimated that eight to ten million Americans are either part-time or full-time distributors. Tens of millions more are customers Good products = potential good opportunity. Bad products = potential scam.

100% Q: I am interested in on line network marketing/MLM Internet but need to know the right companies.?
there are out there so many negative written comments about MLM business opportunity and wonder if it works all. traditonally it is a form of dierct selling usind distributors , however if it can not be done without cold calling coz all of us need the money and like the products and services offed but do not like to be agents.
A:Well, just use simple logic (a word most MLMers hate). If you are not going to sell to the cold market, then you are limited to the warm market, everyone you already know. If you see a product that you think you can make a living by selling to only people you know then you can do it without cold sales of some form. Do the math. Find the commission percentage you will earn, divide that into the income you want, and voilà, you have the total volume of net sales volume you need to accomplish that income. Now just add anticipated expenses and you know exactly what you need to sell. Avoid doing this and you are kidding yourself. Example - you are selling widgets for $50 each, want to make $10,000/month income, and anticipate $3000/month expenses and earn 40% commission. Net Sales Volume = $10,000 / 40% = $25,000 Gross Sales Volume = $25,000 + $3,000 = $28,000 Thus, if you want that income, you need to sell $28k worth of widgets, or ($28,000 / $50 ) 560 widgets per month. If you can do that in your warm market, then go for it. That is how you assess simple sales targets. Now, you should also know that MLM being set up to be direct selling is a thing of the past. No MLMer EVER likes to talk about personal sales targets that amount to anything but mere minimums. The very definition of MLM has multiple levels in it. Thus, the focus is far greater on finding layers of sales people in the dream of making it rich by having lots of people under you selling as oppose to actually selling yourself. You can bet no one who would spam yahoo answers looking for recruits into their business has enough sales ability to sell enough personal volume to make a living. No respectable salesperson would ever need to resort to this cheap style of sales. The bulk of them come off as spin doctors and snake charmers trying to fish out everyone and anyone who just might join up after visiting some ridiculous website. If you are serious about sales would you want to align yourselves with people who need to spam yahoo answers? Of course not. There are countless respectable sales positions out there and near infinite type of products to sell. You can write your own ticket if you are any good, and you can always learn to become good.
