100% Q: What do people in MLM use to assess the business opportunity financially?
Being that all MLMers tell you its a business, I am wondering what business principals are used to assess the opportunity from a financial point of view. For instance, last year I bought an apartment building and my investigation of whether it was a good financial opportunity consisted of looking at the gross and net incomes for the prior 3 years (verifying income and expenses) , looking at the market rents and occupancy rates, and calculating the average sales prices (on a per unit base) over the past 6-12 months within a 1 mile radius. All that information was used in my financial assessment of the deal and to help me decide whether it was worthwhile. Looking at financial statements is key in buying any business, but I have never heard of this in MLM. Other than statements made at a meeting or from their sponsor, what financial criteria is being used to decide whether the MLM "business opportunity" makes sense financially and is it ever verified? Mexico4me, so your research was merely looking at a COMPENSATION PLAN! Oh my, how sad. What exactly did you verify? That the plan would pay a particular compensation percentage? So, you are telling me your upline number's, someone who is supposedly making money running this MLM business, was of no interest to you? Yes, you are delusional. Thanks for proving my point!
A:MLM's make 90% of their money through turn-over. Constantly repeating a cycle of recruiting, training, selling and quitting. Most people will join, sell what they can to friends and family, then quit. It's only an opportunity for those willing to recruit and train. Problem is, once you realize you are selling overpriced crap to your friends and family, most people won't be able to recruit anyone if they don't believe in the product they are selling. Bottom line, MLM's are tough for most people to make any real money at, unless you stick through it long enough to recruit lots of people below you, where you make money on their sales. And of course no one wants to show you their books or really look at hard figures, because it's all pie in the sky.

100% Q: MLM or Party Plan, which is the best business opportunity?
I am tired of working long hours. I would like to work from home, so I may spend time with my family. I am wanting to hear from someone who is actually involved in an MLM or home party plan and earning enough money to support themselves. I want to know if there is a system out there that really works without scamming friends and family. If not, I guess I will have to stay in the corporate world.
A:I would def go for party plans...some are great companies to work for! I am a consultant with Purse Party...a very new company and it's great!! Fun, profitable, and I love the purses and jewelry!!

100% Q: How can I find LEGITIMATE (non-MLM) online business opportunities?
I'm largely confined to home for health reasons but still need to earn a decent income. My computer skills are pretty good but I don't have much for an initial investment. Any suggestions?
A:I suggest starting your own home based business. Most home based business cost under $500. Some cost more depending on what it is you want to do. Most home based businesses have training programs to teach you the trade and help you get started. I don't know what you like to do, so I can only tell you what my husband and I started over six years ago and point you out to some others to take a look at. Ours well supports our family of six (we have four children). My husband is disabled and he's able to do this, so I'm sure you can too. I also created a blog on my 360 page on home based business's. There's over half a dozen different ones to take a look at. Your more then welcome to browse through them. If you find one that's interesting, contact the person who wrote it and they can point you out in the right direction. We got involved with a 15 year old world wide company in the telecommunicatons industry. We've been featured in several magazines like USA Today, Success, Fortune etc. Inc 500 rated us the 22nd fastest growing company. They offer services that people use every day and pay for anyway, but now they can have a lower cost. Services such as local and long distance phones, Internet, digital phones, video phones (you can see the person your taking to live)VOIP, Satallite tv, and all the major cellular phone companies like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Alltell, Nextell etc. have partnered up with them too. How many people do you know, or know of, that uses or has one or more of these services? How would you feel if you could save people money on services that they're most likely already using, if not you can offer them the service, and everytime they pay their bills each month, you make a percentage off these bills every single month. Huge income opportunity. It's incredible how much money is involved in this industry. You can work online or off line. If you'd like more information feel free to email me and I'll be happy to pass it along to you. Another thing you can do is get involved in the candle industry. I have a friend that has that in her own home based business and makes candles and does fundraisers for schools as well as for non-profit organizations. She does really well. If you'd like her information email me and I'd be happy to email you back with it. Tiffany

100% Q: Agel is a good business opportunity or just another MLM scam?
A:Before you get involved, ask yourself a few questions. Do you have an interest in health and wellness? Are you just considering the opportunity to make a quick dollar? I am not involved with Agel however most MLM companies use the same marketing tactics. It is just another MLM. Scam? It is what you make it. If you should choose any business and lead with the opportunity to make big money and you are not in a position to back it up, that can be considered a scam. If you are into health and wellness and wish to learn fair marketing practices then I would say that Agel amongst many other MLM companies could be a good business opportunity. BEST WISHES!

100% Q: For those who seek to build an MLM business.....What do those who bash MLM on Yahoo Answers offer? Mentoring?
What do you look for in a home based business opportunity? Do you seek a product or service you will enjoy sharing? Do you study the compensation plan before joining? Do you understand what your target market is? Do you seek a mentor who will provide one on one training as needed? Do you plan to become a mentor? Would you join an MLM company based on yours or someone else's greed?
A:Just 4 Marcello....LOL. 1. I look for a company that is financially solid and has a product that I feel can help people. 2. Yes, I look for a product I would enjoy sharing. It would be pretty difficult to market something I hated or thought wasn't worth the money. 3.Yes, I study the compensation plan. The beauty of that is you can see what your potential income would be based on your sales and how much work you're willing to put into it...unlike many people who accept JOBS without ever asking what their income will be. 4. You have to understand who your target market is or you will waste a good deal of your time and/or get discouraged and give up. 5. If a company is worth it's while, it will come with not one but several mentors who will all teach you their own unique way of doing business. You can choose which one works best for you. 6. I am a mentor. 7. I don't think greed has anything to do with it. I have never been greedy nor have I ever signed anyone who signed up based on greed. Wanting to have unlimited income has nothing to do with greed and everything to do with being a good business person. Most people strive to be the best that they can be, regardless of whether they're working a menial job, they're a real estate broker or they're an oil tycoon. Anyone who considers it greedy to want more out of life and are willing to work hard for it, is not a business person and has some deep hang-ups about money.
