50% Q: Menards Vs. Home Depot for replacement windows?
anyone ever compare the 2's products and prices when shopping for replacement windows?
A:As a General Contractor I can tell you that *Service is the big question - not price. Big stores thrive on volume - not service. Things you can experience at the big box stores. Incomplete fill of your order - *Some of your windows come in, but not all of them. * Windows are damaged - some come in all shrink wrapped and it's hard to inspect them before you load them in your truck. * Wrong color,glass, no instructions on installation. * No body can help you if you have a question on installation. I order all my windows through local lumber yard, or window store such as Pella. Full support and no problems. For example just call both your big box stores and see how long it takes you to be put in contact with someone who knows windows. I'd be curious - send back info as a comment to your original question. Also, one year those big stores have your windows - guess what - the next year they change vendors, and they no longer have them.

50% Q: how to fix big deep crack in concrete patio?
about 20 feet long......3/4 inch wide.......4 inch deep............any product at menards, home depot, lowes to fix it?.......more for cosmetics........type of caulk? or just quickcrete and a putty knike?......thanks in advance
A:You know you are not going to fix it - you may be able to conceal it. I suggest pushing the correct size "backer rod" down in the cracks so its is about 1/2" below the surface. This is a styrofoam round materials is used to fill cracks prior to installng the crack filler. Now, Purchse a crack filler called" NP1". This is an elastic type filler used to fill concrete cracks, control joints,etc. There also is a product called "SL1" however it is self leveling and if the slab is not level this materials will run to the lower level- it's not good to use if your surface is not very level. Works Good.

50% Q: What if you don't live anywhere near a pet store?
and the foods in the grocery store for dogs(and walmart and alco and menards) only have 'crap' food. Food that have by products in them I could order online but someone told me it might be outdated. The closest one is 5+hours away. If it's crap food then why are the pets as healthy as those that eat Canidae?
A:I would make a trip to the city nearest you and get a pallet of the dog food you want. Then you wont have to go get more for quite some time. And someone who eats nothing but pizza all day everyday can seem like they are as healthy as someone that eats lots of veggies and watches their fat intake and such...but in 10 years, I doubt they will seem as though they are in equal health. Dog foods are about long term. Dogs on a healthier diet and that get plenty of exercise will live longer and be sick less often than those that eat the junk dog foods.

Hi, I have a complaint against a Menards store in Glendale Hts; Il. My family purchased boards for a pergola for me for mothers day and one third of the top boards (2x4s 14` AC2 treated AG arsenic free ) warped and need replaced. I called Menards and was told that I could replace them if they were not painted, and were not cut. They were not painted, but were cut a little to fit the size of the pergola. Nothing was said about possible warping, nor anything in writing on the bill etc. These boards were purchased in good faith, and should be replaced. or a refund given. Doesn`t the consumer have a right to expect a product to perform and stay the same as purchased?. does anyone know the corporate office phone number for Menards? I was given a # by menards that was wrong. Hope someone can help. By the way the bbb burea in chicago (online complaint) is a big joke try placing a complaint there sometime! You need a full day, and then no satisfaction.

50% Q: i have a patent i would like to sell. where is a good place to advertise it for sale?
the patent is for a ladder extension shelf. i have talked to a few retailers (wal mart, lowes, menards, sears/k mart ect.) & they are interested in the product to sell. they all want HUGE orders of 50,000 - 100,000 + units but i do not have the financing to have that many produced. where would be a good place to advertise that my patent is for sale? i've thought of trade magazines, but do not know of any. any help at all anyone can give me would be greatly appriciated!
