100% Q: Is a Medical office assistant a difficult career to learn?
I wanna get my diploma as a medical office assistant ,Do you think that an online diploma is accepted?
Or should I go to an institute?
Is this a difficult career to learn?
A:I've been in the medical field for 33 years and there are many classes for being a medical assistant in adult education and probably online. It would be a better idea to be around other people who are going to the same classes, just to get the feel for what you'll be doing. It's not hard to learn and it can be very interesting. Actually, medical assistants get to do a lot of things the nurses used to do.like taking blood pressures, weighing patients, etc. You should be a good people person and if you are,go for it and good luck with a new career.

100% Q: What makes a good Medical Office Assistant?
When you go to the doctor's office, and you are called from the waiting room, a MOA or Medical Office Assistant is taking you back and taking your vitals. What do you as a patient expect from this person? How could they make you feel most comfortable or make the doctor visit most worthwhile?
A:I am most comfortable when the office personnel act in a professional way and are not busy chatting with others in the office over your head and around you. The assistant should be attentive and friendly but not condescending. Acting brusque and hurried is a no-no, too.

100% Q: Can you be a medical office assistant in the navy?
Can you be a medical office assistant in the Navy..
I'm a 20 yr old female I'm nervous I dont know what I want to do but I want to give the Navy a try... Any advice on what women my age would be good at in the Navy or should try?
A:Hi, I' m a Navy Hospital Corpsman 1st class. You want my job.
Being a Corpsman is a very rewarding job...well atleast I think and there are many otptions for you in your career...and it is pretty easy to do many different aspects of the job.
first you have to go to bootcamp, everyone does, it sucks, but it's only 2 months and you will ive I promise.
Second you go to a five month "A" school right across the street from bootcamp in NTC Great Lakes. when I went to the school it was 50/50 classroom to clinic time...but I have heard it has changed a little...more time on computer studying and less time in the clinic. I heard this is because there are more civilians in our field now. If while in bootcamp you are going through the medical processing phase and you see some E-4 and below ranked HM's helping out....those are Corpsman Candidates.
After A school, you can go to one of many C schools...my first C school was FMF (not FMS, and you have to qualify to do this...not everyone is allowed to) Fleet Marine Force School in California...I went basically to learn how to work and live with Marines...It's tough, but it was worth it. It opened a lot more doors along my career path. My second C school was psychology..I negotiated with my detaliers for these orders since I was persuing a degree in psychology as well. ther are many more to choose from from basic clinic corpsman, lab technician, nuclear medicine, optician, dental hygenist/assistant, nutritionist, Xray technician...etc.
I myself have worked in a few different enviroments. I have worked as a Field Corpsman with the marines both during peace and war times, I have ran a small shipboard clinic on an LHD, and I have worked in two big hospitals one in VA and one in WA. I have done not only my job as a counseler, but I have been in the emergency room, duty corpsman for sick call, logs and records, pharmacy, a little bit as a dental assistant back when they first merged our too rates.
I get to help people everyday, I feel satisfied when I can make people comfortable and happy...also I have seen combat and helped save peoples lives. So I like the rate and I plan on staying here for as long as they will let me.
here is the navy NEC manual for..start at 8401 for the Hospital Corpsman Codes...

Good luck
I.A.
I don't know why people keep saying this...not all Corpsman go FMF with the marines....only a select few. You have to qualify for it first....there are many, MANY Corpsman who do not go FMF.
