Dartmouth Medical School (DMS) is the medical school of Dartmouth College, located in Hanover, New Hampshire, in the United States. The fourth-oldest medical school in the United States, Dartmouth Medical School was founded in 1797 by New England physician Nathan Smith and grew steadily over the course of the 19th century. In the early 1900s, it was forced to cease granting the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. After further problems in the 1950s, the clinical M.D. program was reinstated and the school returned to national prominence for its academics and research. Several milestones in medical care and research have taken place at DMS, including the first clinical X-ray (1896), the first intensive care unit in the United States (1955),[2] and the Brattleboro rat (1961).[3]....

100% Q: Dr office CSR vs. Medical equipment CSR?
I have worked in a doctor office for 2 years, I have been offered a position in DME Customer Service. Has anyone done this? it seems easier than a receptionist for busy doctor office. Please help any info appreciated!
A:It's different. Customer service is just as important and you may have less downtime but I bet it will pay a lot better.

100% Q: Can a non-MD run a medical office?
I'm wondering if it is legal to run a medical office / clinic without actually being an MD? As an example, say I open an office, supply all the medical equipment and hire several MD's to work in this office. I am not a doctor...so can I still do this? I am in Los Angeles County. thanks.
A:A private practice can be owned by anyone. However the rule in most places in the world is that only one who is qualified to do so can practice medicine. If your role in the business is only the business side of it then yes it would be legal. However, wether you would be able to attract doctors that would work for you instead of for themselves is another matter. Good luck with that.

100% Q: What type of modern office and diagnostics are doctors and medical staff wanting to work with now?
is there a standard or do most private or clinical facilities take what the can get in order to practice? Do most want modern NEW equipment or "recycled"? I only want doctors to answer this question please. Then let's have those medical office staff also have a shot at answering this question. Can you all help me out with the type of office or diagnostic equipment that would make doing your job easier?
A:There are very, very few doctors that frequent Yahoo Answers. You might have better luck if you open up your question to nurses or medical office managers. They might be able to give you a really great answer, too.

100% Q: conflict of interest as a registered nurse in opening a medical equipment supply company?
sell equipment to my home care customers; would that be allowed? pass out flyers to nursing homes, doctor offices, etc.?
A:Check with your state board of nursing. They will be able to tell you. Most state boards now have on online site where you can email them...that would be the best way to go. Get the info straight from the source.

100% Q: Has anyone know a child who wanted to be a doctor from a very young age?
One of my sons has been saying he wants to be a doctor since he was under 2 years old. He is obsessed with it and wants to go to a doctors office any chance he gets (he is 4 now) ... and asks the doctors questions about medical equipment, procedures, etc. Actually, his pediatrician said she never seen such a thing. Oh... and he begs me to take him to the health museum... he wants to look at medical diagrams constantly... he names all the organs and their functions and stuff like that... I was think it was a phase but now after over 2 years of this... people are telling me it is odd and he probably really will be a doctor. Is that how it works? My other children never showed such an interest in anything at any age (my oldest is 14)...
A:Many very exceptional professional people have had a life long obsession with their profession of choice. It may just be a phase, but I would encourage it. Take him to the places he asks to go if it's possible. Help him, try the library for age appropriate books on health and doctors! You never know, your child might be an amazing doctor one day that cures a disease and changes the world forever! Many small children have seemingly strange obsessions. For my 3 yr old, it's trains. I once knew a little boy who was obsessed with vacuums, and one that was obsessed with light bulbs of all things... any size or shape, lol. Best of luck to you and your possibly future doctor!!
