math homework questions

Homework, or homework assignment, refers to tasks assigned to students by their teachers to be completed mostly outside of class, and derives its name from the fact that most students do the majority of such work at home. Common homework assignments may include a quantity or period of reading to be performed, writing or typing to be completed, problems to be solved, a school project to be built (such as a diorama or display), or other skills to be practiced.....

100% Q: A question for the students who ask Math homework questions?
I like to help students out with their homework, especially math, and I like to show details on how to solve it, not just give the answer. I wonder if I am wasting my time, though. So, students, can you please tell me honestly, when you come here with your math questions, do you want just an answer or do you want to see how the problem is solved? Looking for HONEST answers here -- thanks!
A:Show the details. Even if the original person does not want or need them they can be pulled up for other people with the same questions.

100% Q: Can you help me with my three math questions homework?
Determine if each conditional is true. If false, give a counterexample. 5. If two points are noncollinear, then a right triangle contains one obtuse angle. 6. If a liquid is water, then it is composed of hydrogen and oxygen. 7. If a living thing is green, then it is a plant.
A:think about these- you can come up with the answers. here's some help: 5. if noncollinear means two points that aren't on the same line, does that necessarily mean that a right triangle has an obtuse angle, especially since we know that a right triangle has a right angle? what would that mean about the other two angles in the right triangle? 6. if a liquid is water, then what is water comprised of? 7. if a living thing is green, does that mean that a green tree frog is a plant? hope that helps ya a little

100% Q: Why do people ask simple homework questions in Math?
This is an attempt at serious discussion. Are all the homework askers from the same country? Is there really this much difficulty understanding math? Are people just lazy, or do they really not understand how to do this?
A:I've answered a lot of these homework-type questions, and I agree with you somewhat. Some of the questions are so easy that I wonder if the asker even tried to answer, or if they truly are a little slow. I don't even bother with the ones that list 10 or 12 math problems and ask for them to be solved. The askers never appear to say thank you or choose an answer and the spelling and description is often horrible. Having said that, I like trying to help and I show the full steps required to solve the problem. Oh, and I admit that I look at what other questions they've asked: if they're a repeat, repeat, repeat offender I just don't bother. As for the country thing... this should set off a few sparks... it appears that most of the questions are US askers, and I feel the education system has really gone downhill.

100% Q: 4 math homework questions i don't get?
i have a huge math packet to do and i need help with 4 of the questions...they are all slope questions. since this is summer homework, i'm kinda dumbed down so i don't remember anything! :( directions: find the slope of the line passing through the 2 points 1. (3,4) and (6,9) 2. (-2,7) and (3, -8) 3. (5,10) and (5,-2) 4. (-3,-6) and (8,-6)
A:Formula for slope is (y2 - y1)/(x2-x1). 1. (9 - 4)/(6 - 3) = 5/3 2. (7 + 8)/(-2 - 3) = -3 3. (10 + 2)/(5 - 5) = 12/0 SO this line is vertical. 4. (-6 + 6)/(8 + 3) = 0/11 = 0 SO this line is horizontal.
