so i got my license today after a nerve wrecking week. i want a cheap used car just incase i get into a car accident and i dont really have a lot of money right now. anyone know a few websites i can just check out some used cars on BESIDES www.cars.com?

A:Local newspapers usually have a section on their websites (I don't know where you are so I can't link you), you can also try www.craigslist.com (I love this site), you can also look at autotrader.com... edmunds.com... etc (just type cars into google and you'll get a lot of options) Good luck and I hope you don't get into an accident!

100% Q: What is the cheapest used car money can buy to destroy in a stunt?

I am going to be making a movie project which will be getting small amounts of local funding. In it, a car has the window broken, is stolen, and later is totaled. So, what is the absolutely cheapest way to get a car (it does not matter what kind of car, or how bad it looks) running? It only has to work for a day or two. I'm hoping to spend around $400-500.

A:Check your local papers, and remember you can offer less. Look for the ones that say "Runs". Check local police departments. They hold periodic auctions of unclaimed and confiscated vehicles. Cruise the least affluent areas in your town and watch for "for sale signs" on cars. Finally, check the dealerships in the cheaper parts of town (pref somewhat large town or city). One near me has 3 classes of used cars - "Used" cars, "Go to work" cars and "Go to work Slow" cars. You'll probably want the latter category. Good luck!!! =]

A:Title pawn cars come from people who borrow money against the title of their car. When they can't pay back the loan, the lender has the right to keep the car and do what they choose. Autos are commodities with many buyers and sellers. If a car is in good condition, there are many business' and people willing to buy the car, so there is a fair market value for the car. As things get ugly, there are fewer buyers and the market softens. Auto pawn cars are considered very poor cars to buy - similar to repo cars. If the owner could not afford to make payments on his debt, then he certainly won't pay to maintain the car properly. Also, if he knows he's going to lose the car, he may become vengeful and purposely damage the car (drive over curbs, hit things, race the car, etc). A simple question to ask is "do I want an abused car?" I am in the auto industry and we consider these cars to be "dirty". Consequently, they get very low prices when they go to auction and only certain resellers venture into this risky business (corner used car lots, etc). Even franchise car dealers don't want them. 100% Q: i am looking to buy a cheap conversion van, what do you car experts think about this one?

I've been wanting to buy a conversion van for a really long time. I think they are absolutely awesome for taking trips. I recently found one at a local used car dealership for extremely cheap which is what I need. The thing is this will be my first car and I would hate to buy it and have it breakdown on me in the next couple of months because money will be very tight, that means if it breaks I will have no way of getting to work and I will be out of the money I bought the car for...until I get the money and fix it. I plan on taking the car to work (3 miles away) and college (10 miles away), to beach (20 miles away) and in spring time I am hoping to take trips involving 200-300 miles. I honestly only need the car to run without problems for at least one year, after that depending on its condition I will most likely buy a better one...but until then it has to run. So I am posting the link of the van I am thinking of buying, it has the links to its CarFax report and everything on there. I know the miles are extremely high but if the owners took good care of it that shouldn't be a problem right? So please take a look and let me know what you guys think. Any tips on buying a first car/conversion van, on its engine, accessories anything at all will be very very appreciated. A:That is a very nice looking truck .. make sure it comes with a warranty.. you should be fine. The first day you get it .. change the oil just in case .. look at the belts .. make sure they don't look shot .
