laparoscopic kidney surgery

Single Port Access (SPATM) surgery, also known as Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILSTM) or One Port Umbilical Surgery (OPUS) or Natural Orifice TransUmbilical Surgery (NOTUS), is an advanced minimally invasive surgical procedure in which the surgeon operates almost exclusively through a single entry point, typically the patient’s navel. SPA surgical procedures are like many laparoscopic surgeries in that the patient is under general anesthesia, insufflated and laparoscopic visualization is utilized.....

100% Q: what does laparoscopic surgery look for?
In laparoscopic surgery, for gyno issues do they also take a look at the liver, kidney things like that?
A:No. For gynecological issues they exam ONLY the anatomical areas of interest: ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, and cervix. It's generally a quick procedure as well- mine took about 30 minutes. It would only take longer if they found something that they wanted to correct or biopsy. Good luck to you!

100% Q: I had laser laparoscopic surgery done for endrometriosis and was cut on my left /right sides over my ovaries.?
I had this surgery done 6 days ago. I had a bit of a lower stomach and now when I stand up it looks indented and that the stitches were sown up too tight. My lower stomach is all lumpy, swollen and sore around the stitches. I was wondering if it will go away and my ponch will just be round again or will it stay indented? I am not sure if they went through the muscles or not. Will I be able to get rid of my lower stomach if they did go through my muscles? Also along with my stomach being sore my lower back mainly in my kidney area is sore too. Could the pain be in my kidneys?
A:I had a laparoscopy to diagnose and burn of my endometriosis 5 weeks ago and it took a few weeks for my stomach to go back down to normal. I would give it some more time. The pains you are experiencing could very well be the gas pains from the gas they pumped into your tummy to see inside during surgery. It's normal to feel tender and sore all over your tummy and especially around the stitches. I still have a tender tummy around where my belly button is (as well as the inside of my belly button where my incision is). I was worried about the tenderness as it is still quite sore, however my gyno reassured me that it's all good and normal and part of the healing going on inside. I would recommend you give it a couple of weeks, it's only been 6 days for you now. I'm still healing and recovering after 5 weeks, although feeling better each day. Take it easy and get plenty of rest, you will thank yourself for it later. If you have any severe pain or your stitches seems to be very red or oozing, I would recommend you see your doctor/gyno for further evaluation. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me direct, the link to my email is in my profile. Good luck :)
