A:As a Store Manager at Kroger, the most valuable piece of advise I can give you is to be honest. The store manager understands that you are a student and that your skills and knowledge are limited, the are looking for individuals who are honest, fair, hard working, and dependable. You should definetly highlight any team activities at school, church, or community. If it is your first job highlight good attendance and the fact that you have not every been disciplined at school for bad behavior. Grocery stores like Kroger employ a lot of part-time help, so they will be used to planning work schedules around an employee's availability. As long as you let them know up front, it shouldn't be a problem! Whatever you do, don't wait until you have the job to ask. Your employer will think that you're trying to pull a fast one, and they won't like it. You will be much more likely to get the time you need if you ask for it in advance.
