kids homework helper
Homework, or homework assignment, refers to tasks assigned to students by their teachers to be completed mostly outside of class, and derives its name from the fact that most students do the majority of such work at home. Common homework assignments may include a quantity or period of reading to be performed, writing or typing to be completed, problems to be solved, a school project to be built (such as a diorama or display), or other skills to be practiced.....

100% Q: When did Yahoo Answers become Homework Helper?
seems like every 1 out of 4 questions is just some kid asking someone to do their homework.
Wish I had this method of cheating when I was in school.
A:I agree with you ... it often IS a form of cheating.
I will NOT look something up and just give an answer. I MAY provide a link which the asker might find helpful in getting the information for him/herself.
Sometimes, though, a kid seems to need help understanding how to do something, or where to look to find what he/she needs. In those cases, I don't mind helping if I can.
Used for that purpose, I think Y!A is a great "tool" for kids to use when they need some extra help.

100% Q: How can I be an effective "homework helper"/tutor?
Hi! I am a 20 year old student who is a third year child development major. I just got hired to become a homework helper for a 7 year old girl. Her mom said she just needs someone to guide her through the homework(not teach anything, though) and keep her focused.
The mom made sure to let me know that I would NOT be a tutor, just a helper.. so I will not be teaching anything. I am currently starting a tutoring job for high school kids too, but for that job I have the lessons prepared for me, and I just follow them. So this is different, and I am unsure of what to do for the 3 hours I will be helping her. These sessions are twice a week.
I want to help the girl as much as I can. I am stumped on things I could do to help her in a fun way while also being productive. I don't know if rewards would be appropriate?
Thanks for any help!
A:Point her in the right direction when it comes to answering questions and promote good revision skills as they will help later in her school career, for example mind mapping with colours, making post it notes and implementing pictures/music into the sessions. Also try adding games and things so the session is not to intense.

100% Q: Spouse#1 works full time, Spouse #2 stays home with kids, how do you divide housework evenly?
Couple have 3 kids.
SP1. is a good provider for the home, wonderful parent,
works hard, about 12 hours a day; BUT comes home, eats, leaves plate on table, plays internet poker, backgammon, or watches TV the rest of the night. Doesn't help with the kids, doesn't clean, leaves clothes on the floor, doesn't pick up anything. If SP1 eats in the living room by TV everything gets left there. Wrappers, potato chip bags, glasses of juice, beer bottles etc.
SP2 is a great parent, doesn't work outside the home, is a stay at home parent, does the cleaningthe house, laundry, cooking, taking kids to school, the only one attending school functions, homework helper, takes kids to the doc for immunizations, or doctor visits, feels like a single parent.
SP1 defense is that work is hard and that since SP1 is income provider, SP2 should be the "house" provider.
Ok, all abbreviations aside, I am spouse 2, (if you haven't figured that out) How can I get thru to hubby that I need help around the house?
I have tried to talk to him many times and I keep getting the same frustrated answer from him. I don't want alot of help just for pick up after himself and to be a better role model for the kids.
A:Despite the fact that your husband says his work is hard; so is your job. I believe that he has his daytime duties and so do you; the evening duties should be split between the two of you OR you do them together. Why should the stay at home spouse work 12 to 16 hours a day while the other only 8 to 10. Good luck, I'd blame his mother who did absolutely everything for him when he was growing up and probably still would.
