kidney problems

Kidney transplantation or renal transplantation is the organ transplant of a kidney in a patient with end-stage renal disease. Kidney transplantation is typically classified as deceased-donor (formerly known as cadaveric) or living-donor transplantation depending on the source of the recipient organ. Living-donor renal transplants are further characterized as genetically related (living-related) or non-related (living-unrelated) transplants, depending on whether a biological relationship exists between the donor and recipient.....

100% Q: Kidney problems?
can anyone kindly assist me with any information on how to cure kidney problems that cause continuous "inner"back ache.
A:Drink any kind of dark colored juice i.e. Cranberry, Pomegrante, Blueberry...Won't so much help the pain, but can decrease problem time. As for pain, take an over the counter drug specific for backpain.

100% Q: Can i save my cat , he has kidney problems? & How long will he live by giving him Azodyl & Epatkin?
My cat was diagnosed with kidney failure . He is about 14 years old.The vet asked me to think about putting him down . I refused & instead the vet has told me he must be given IV via needle 2 x a day for the rest of his life.I have added the medications Azodyl & Epatkin ,as well as changing his diet to healthier foods. How long should i expect him to live ,before other problems arise (& if ,what problems to expect )
A:Chronic renal failure is extremely tough on both the cat and the owner. It's going to be an expensive uphill battle, but if you're willing to do it, that's great. The treatments your cat is on are basically to minimize waste products that the kidney must filter, thereby lightening its load. Animals do not show signs of renal failure until the kidneys are up to 75% damaged, so by the time we find it they're already pretty far gone. This is, unforunately irreversible in the case of chronic failure. Properly cared for, a cat can live for months, even years before the kidney failure eventually gets the best of them. The keys are making sure his meds are regular and keeping him hydrated. He is going to lose a lot of fluid every time he urinates, so subcutaneous fluids are going to be key. Eventually he will get thin and have a hard time doing the things he loves. When you start to see this, you may have to consider euthanasia. As a veterinary student, I see euthanasia as one of the kindest things we can do for some of our patients. It should be used conservatively of course, and only if you know your cat is suffering. Unfortunately he is not going to get better, so the best thing you can do is make the time he has comfortable and recognize when he is suffering. Usually the biggest indicator is that they stop eating, so watch his appetite. Good luck with your cat, I know it's a difficult road but you can do it!

100% Q: How can you tell if it's a back ache or kidney problems?
Other then going to the doctor since I have had back problems before. How do you know if it's just not another back ache? Or if your having kidney problems since I read it's in the same general area. And same type of pain feel.
A:A kidney problem usually shows in the result of your urine test. If you have a kidney infection, your urinalysis will show plenty of bacteria, pus, blood. Back ache can also be one of the symptoms of Urinary Tract Infection pr kidney infection but it can also be due to a number of reasons like disc herniation, lumbago, etc. Just go see your doctor.

100% Q: Can kidney problems make your face swell and sensitive?
I woke up this morning with my face and abdomin, places I noticed a difference, puffy. Plus, my face is still red after I used the same facial cleaner I have used for months, today is the first time this has happened. You can actually see where I had the cleanser on. I have been pushing lots of water for 5 days because I have been having problems, symptoms seem similiar to kidney stones, but have not be diagnosis with them yet. I know, get them checked, but don't have insurance to cover the CT scan. Have had other tests run, urine, blood, ultra sound. Plus, there is a swelling near or where my ureter is. Not a cyst or tumor. I guess I wanted to know if anyone has had a similiar problem. Thank you for your time.
A:*Thinks about this* Seems a bit of an abstract thing to happen.... but if your kidneys aren't working properly then your blood isn't being effectively filtered, and all kindsa crap could be building up in there and reacting with different parts of your body along the way..... so yes, its possible...
