100% Q: what illegal drug is it, in pill form, that makes everything in slow motion?

I am doing a psycology paper on illegal drugs and their side effects. My mother told me that a long time ago she tried a pill one time, and only one time, that made her feel like everything was in slow motion. I want to include her experience in my paper but I don't know the name of the substance. She did not know what it was called. Anyone know?

A:It might have been LSD, or acid, which distorts time and reality very well. Most narcotics, opiates, like morphine, would tend to make one pretty sleepy and groggy, and rather than slow motion, one would nod in and out. Speed makes reality move at a far more rapid pace- it is a stimulant, and that is it's purpose when used as a recreational drug. The only other candidate is Quaalude, which were a combination drug that could make things seem very slow. I am not sure what combination it was, but it was recalled fondly as a mellow drug, so it could have been what she was talking about.

The baby could be... -Mentally disabled -Physically disabled -Premature -Addicted to the drug the mother is using from birth -Stillborn You need to talk to her about these effects. If she refuses to stop using drugs, I'm afraid you'll have to tell someone of authority. Not only is your friend in danger, but there is another person in danger here. Do NOT let her go through with this, no matter how much you love her. You need to help both of them to get through this, or one (or both) might not make it through. Tell her that drugs are not better than a baby.

I suspect my brother-in-law is abusing drugs. Besides his strange behavior, his mom noticed severe acne on his back. To your knowledge, is back acne a side effect of any certain illegal drug? All I can find from my research on the net is meth. Thanks in advance for you answers.

A:Yes, it does depend on the drug, how long you've been taking it, the dose you've been taking, and some other factors that depend on the drug. The best way to find out for the drug you've been taking would be to talk to your doctor or a pharmacist. If you talk to your doctor, they are supposed to log all adverse reactions and side effects for it, so that would be the most ideal choice, but I know most doctors don't spend a lot of time on the phone as well. Hopefully it would only be a few days, but some take weeks to get out of your system. Good luck!

100% Q: Why is the drug heroin illegal in Canada and Alchohol is legal?

An addiction to heroin is just that , other than being addictive there are no harmful side effects other than may-be constipation which is more annoying than harmful. Alchohol addiction though can be physically and mentally destructive, I can't think of a drug like alchohol that has such far reaching absolute devastation and yet the canadian gov'mt sees fit to keep this drug illegal and heroin illegal. There's probably going to be many people that read this and won't believe that Heroin, that as Canadians we've told time and time again about the evils of heroin and the destruction of alchohol is down-played, yet the truth is, an addiction to legal heroin compared to a addiction to alchohol is so much safer . Our goverment has lied to Canadians how bad heroin is while down playing the absolute devastation and misery that the drug alchohol causes in this country . Why aren't Canadians told the truth. As a drug heroin is in fact very safe.

A:Have you ever seen a long-term heroin addict? Right - they don't live that long. Heroin abuse is associated with serious health conditions, including fatal overdose, spontaneous abortion, collapsed veins, and, particularly in users who inject the drug, infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS and hepatitis. I agree that alcohol is destructive, but not in the same ways and to the same extent as Heroin.
