This computer-mediated communication has become very popular with social sites like MySpace and Facebook, media sites like Flickr and YouTube, and commercial sites like Amazon.com and eBay. Many of these applications share characteristics like open APIs, service oriented design, and the ability to upload data and media. The terms Web 2.0 and (for large-business applications) Enterprise 2.0 are also used to describe this style of software.....

I get away with a lot at school and home. In school, I can usually get away with not doing my homework, and half the time, the teacher doesn't even know. 100% Q: Is anyone willing to critique my story so far?
First, you're completely lost when it comes to grammer and spelling.
-x-
I like your answer, and I'll heed it, Melissa, but I spell the British way, so everything might seem topsy-turvy.
A:(First of all, people who critique your grammar and spelling should really check their own!)
Your is an elaborate story but, like everyone else has indicated, it seems to meander along to some unknown destination. In other words, where is the story going? What is the message?
It seems to me that you could use this as a good start to getting your words on paper-but not as a finished product.
Sometimes it helps to disect your work paragraph by paragraph--take a close look at the point of view and make adjustments accordingly. Do you think this might work for you as a "diary" of sorts??

100% Q: Which is best for making friends and/or relationships in Cyberspace?
Personals are a bit like cattle markets where people go shopping for other people usually on shallow criteria like height, eye color, etc.
With Chat people can really be anybody - usually a minor in a room they shouldn't be in when they ought to be doing their homework.
Yahoo!Answers gives you an opportunity to evaluate people's personality from their Q&A's as these indicate beliefs, intellegence, education and sometimes sense of humour.
Given the above which do you think provides the best possibily of making new friends?
P.S. Thanks for the alt.com suggestion to the sweet seductive lady who has sunshine in her hair ;-)
A:I think it just depends on what you are most interested in. A lot of people are concerned with the shallow qualities, so personals or chatrooms are ideal for them. For me, personally, this medium is better for making friends because it gives me a glimpse into their intellect. If it was for relationship purposes, I wouldn't be so sure.

100% Q: i need to vent please listen?
Hello, my name is Ann, I’m 19 and I’ve been in counseling for about 6 months now. This is also the first time in 5 years that I have come clean from drugs. These last 6 months have been painful, but rewarding. My emotions are overwhelming me but I refuse to take the anti-depressants I was prescribed. I feel a need to tell of my past, I need to ventilate my feelings. Though this took place quite a while ago, I remember it like it was yesterday. Please listen, I know it’s long but the more feedback I get the better. The dates in here are from my diary.
My story begins in the 7th grade, October 7, 2000; I was 11 at the time, turning 12 on October 26. My parents thought they were good parents but they had a flaw, apparently that flaw was me. My anger towards my younger sister Nicole had peaked. It seemed like her entire life was devoted around pissing my off. She did everything. On top of that she was big, only in the 5th grade and 5'5" and 150 pounds. I never appreciated her and it seemed like we were always fighting.
What they didn’t know was that my anger was mostly because of them. Caitlin was the angel, Nicole was the baby, and William was the boy. Then there was me, the middle child who was blamed for everything. When there was work to be done they made me. When there were tears to be let out I couldn’t let them fall, I never had time I was never alone, I couldn’t handle the crap my parents would give me for crying. Expressing myself would not be rewarding, but embarrassing. I look back on this and cry for every time I couldn’t, for all the hate in my house. And also for the fact that I would never be able to say I love you and mean it, and I never will.
My life revolved around William, my 3 year old baby brother, I loved him more than anybody in the world. He loved me equally as much and favorited me over everybody else in my family. When I was with him my sadness left. When I asked him how much he loved me he would answer, "90 hundred." those words meant the world to me. to him if was Gaga. I never got the chance to figure out why I was called that, and i will never know.
I was the girl who didn’t go by the rules, my parents told me no boyfriends, no cussing, no make-up, no chat rooms, no phone after eight, finish all of your homework, you get the point. Well I broke every rule there was on multiple occasions. I made one mistake, telling my 13 year old sister Caitlin. I trusted her with my secrets for a long time but it all blew up when she got mad at me. I don’t remember the reason but I remember the talk i got from my parents. I was grounded for 3 months. But I didn’t stop.
I went to a small middle school of 200 kids, so when something happened everybody knew. When someone was mad the rumors spread and worsened like a giant game of telephone. Everyone knew the tip to surviving middle school, love your enemies.
I was the popular girl who cussed, partied hard, and was disconnected. Being disconnected like this allowed me to cover my emotions and feel emotions of someone else. Somewhere in my mind I knew this but I wouldn’t admit it to myself. My sister who was in the 8th grade was a suck-up she helped the teachers at lunch, and never talked during class. Which made my experience worse, every teacher and my parents expected me to be just like her. But I never was, so when I did a minor thing that would usually be overlooked I was punished.
January 28, 2001. I still had not improved. My parents had gotten more used to my outbursts. And on top of that my grades slipped I was supposed to maintain a B or above in all my classes. I got one C+. My parents flipped, I was grounded until school was out, that is, if I got acceptable grades. If not then I was to be grounded for the summer also. My anger swelled inside me, not only for them not accepting that I did my best but also for one year ago. One year ago, Caitlin had earned a C+ at the same time of the year in the same grade. My parents praised her for "doing her best.'' for the first time I considered suicide.
Summer finally came and I was so stoked, I earned acceptable grades and was ready to have a great time. I tried to look past my past and enjoy my time. My summer was normal most of the time. My best friend's name was Lauren. We were tight. She practically lived with me we were always together. We were trouble makers though; we would trash the movie theaters and got drunk a couple of times. But I was only beginning.
8th grade finally came around. Fighting and yelling was a daily for me and my sister now. The highlight of my day, other than school, was being home alone, I honestly hated my family. I was getting drunk more often, and I pierced my bellybutton. I thought it looked hot. I was a slut, low cut shirts, dirty dancing, and boys. My parents and I rarely talked unless I did something wrong.
My little brother, now 4 years old, was the only thing that kept me from completely screwing up my life. I loved him so mu
. I loved him so much and I always will.
November 17, 2001. My life flipped, I never expected this to happen. My parents couldn’t live with me any longer. I was disowned. They put me in a foster home where I stayed for about 2 months before being shuffled into another one. I knew I would probably never see my baby William again. For the first time in 2 ½ years I cried. And for the first time in 9 months I again considered suicide.
Now I’m in Colorado, I don’t know where the Marrii family is. My birth name is Melissa Ann Marii. But now I am just Ann Marii. I changed my name when I was 14. I felt that after part of my life was taken away I should take away part of my name. So I will forever remember and I will never forgive
A:i think that being disowned is probably the worst thing any parent can do to their child.
you are special to make it this far
i admire you so much
