homework

Homework, or homework assignment, refers to tasks assigned to students by their teachers to be completed mostly outside of class, and derives its name from the fact that most students do the majority of such work at home. Common homework assignments may include a quantity or period of reading to be performed, writing or typing to be completed, problems to be solved, a school project to be built (such as a diorama or display), or other skills to be practiced.....

100% Q: Homework.......?
I have homework, but i procastinate literally everytime. What are some good tips or solutions to make me do the homwork quick and play? after coming home i usually stick on the computer for like 2 hours until my parents get back and i start doing it till like 11. thx
A:self-discipline urself to do ur HW as soon as u get home. That way u get it outta the way THEN have the rest of ur evening doing w/e you wanna do. Whether u think so or not...HW is important..definately concentrate on that first then play :-) i've done this all through my school years. HW first then play. Yes i'll admit there are times where as soon as i got home from school i'll watch TV for an hr or play on the computer. But u gotta get in a habit of having ur HW first priority :) Good luck!!! u can do it ^_^

100% Q: What kind of homework does your 1st grader have?
I have a 1st grader; however, his school does not give homework. Is this normal? Also what kind of homework are your kids bringing in, those of you with first graders?
A:well......how does the opinion of a 1st grade teacher sound? something that i do differently compared to most classes, is that i send home a packet of homework each monday, and expect it to be returned on friday. the kids then have a whole week to pace themselves. not to mention it is easier for them to keep track of an actual packet vs single slips of paper. we have 6 new spelling words each week, and i expect the kids to write each word 5 times, and to write a sentence with each....they need to write a journal entry (3-5 sentences) about what we are covering in science or social studies.......i ask that they read (or be read to) for 10-15 minutes every night.....they also put a list of 10-15 words in ABC order.....and i also send home 2 math worksheets attached to the packet. it may sound like a lot or a little depending on what you are used to. all i know is that my kids think it is fun, and often ask me for extra homework. i guess that is all in the attitude of the teacher/students though.

100% Q: Homework help on the decleration of independence?
Hi! I have to draw a political cartoon on that event. I am thinking of drawing a male teacher giving out homework. The date is July 4, 1776. The teacher will give homework to the guys, and homework to the girls, african americans, and natives. What rights did the male have after the declaration had been declared? What did the males have that th females, and African Americans didn't? HELP!
A:I believe I did the same project. When the Declaration of Independence was declared, I believe that the males got the right to to basically be liberated from Britain, and to do progandas about Britain. Well, females stayed the same, there's no changes, they can't vote, and I guess they can't be eduacted. African Americans in that time were controlled by Europeans. They can't be part of anything. I suggest, to keep that idea about the teacher, just instead let one guy stand up like he passed a test. That idea symbolizes "Rights of Man", the females stood there. The teacher just looked through the African Americans like they weren't part of class. The natives, I guess more cultural, focus but not as well as the guys.

100% Q: How can I inspire myself to do homework before the late hours of the night?
I cannot make myself do homework during the day, it's very frustrating. I waste time doing nothing then spend my night doing homework and never get to do things I enjoy, such as watching TV or playing basketball. How can I avoid this vicious cycle and force myself to do homework throughout the day?
A:Begin by replacing the phrase " I cannot make myself" in your first sentence to "I choose not". "Cannot" implies that it is out of your hands, or that you are literally unable to complete your homework in a timely manner. This is not the case. You (for whatever reason) are choosing to delay the completion of your homework. This IS in your control. It is 100% in your control. You can choose to exercise that control, or you can choose to continue with your current plan. Sounds to me, though, like your current plan is not working very well for you. It takes about 21 days to build a habit. Decide RIGHT NOW, that you are going to build a habit of diligence with your homework. As soon as you walk in the door, sit down and knock out your homework. All of it. Once you're done, put $1 in a jar near to the desk where you do your work. Once you've accumulated enough dollars (or tokens) in your jar, take yourself to the store to celebrate your victory over procrastination. Start NOW. You can do it! ~M~
