Resilience in psychology is the positive capacity of people to cope with stress and catastrophe. It is also used to indicate a characteristic of resistance to future negative events. In this sense "resilience" corresponds to cumulative "protective factors" and is used in opposition to cumulative "risk factors". The phrase "risk and resilience"' in this area of study is quite common. Commonly used terms, which are essentially synonymous within psychology, are "resilience", "psychological resilience", "emotional resilience", "hardiness", and "resourcefulness".....

100% Q: Why do people criticize others for helping students with homework questions?
I feel that I am not helping the kids cheat, but giving them a nudge in the right direction. I always helped my kids with their homework in grade school - early college. I am an elder who has seen and heard many important eras in history. All 3 kids are adults doing well with minimal help thank you. I know that if more parents spent time to help their children with homework we wouldn't have the problems we have today. I have a few friends who home school their kids and all are very intelligent and on their way to good colleges.
A:I agree. People don't realize that not everyone learns the same way. We live in a cookie cutter society now days. They figure if thats how they do it why would you ever consider doing it another way, after all they know whats best for you and your family.....

100% Q: Why is it allowed for students to get on Y/A History..etc.... & ask questions to do their homework?
I think that should be a definite"no-no"!!!
I can go with--a little--of them looking it up on the 'internet'
themselves--but as part of their education (as we were), they should have to read their 'textbooks' and if any other 'references' are needed, they should have to go to the library--home/city, school/county, state/college, country/university....................!!!
When they get in a classroom,.........a 'new' family ........office, .......court,.......out in the world,..........if lucky, a job,...........they don't have a clue!!!
What has happened to families & schools? The students can't even READ, SPELL or do MATHEMATICS without some type of machine!!!
YAHOO is PROMOTING THIS!!!
What happened to the classes on "manners", "etiquette" & "life"? What has happened to the classes on 'husbandry", "gardening" & "life"...................'survival' seems to be all about 'cons' &' weaponry'!!!
Oh--thanks--I had completely forgot to add "Writing"!!!
I added you each a 'thumbs-up', whether you deserved it or not!!!
Thanks!!! My 'opinion' hasn't changed!!!
Thanks to the ones who care & understand!!!
Yahoo & '????web' is educating our 'young people', now'!!!
I am not against looking 'things' up on the internet or using a computer!!!
A:I do not know why Teachers/Professors allow this.
When I was a Cub, we had to read our Textbooks, Encyclopedias, or Dictionaries to find our answers.
Oh, we could use Newspapers, National Geographic, Time, Newsweek, or other news magazines. We also had to list the source for our information.
