google web search home page

We're a public library in Ontario and have been indexed by Google Search. The index listing is reflecting information that is several months old as opposed to the information shown on the home page when the user naviagtes to it. Is there any way i can force Google Search to update its index listings (or entire cache) of our website? Can this update be reflected in the index in some kind of reasonable time period? Thank you.

I tried removing the cookies, temporary internet files, and resetting, but still, the home page is all wrong. Other web pages like google or msn are fine.

A similar question was asked before - how do I add a google search window to my page. The answer was another question - why use google and not yahoo. Well, quite simply, Yahoo does not have a search window that can be added to a web page the way google does. I don't want the whole Yahoo toolbar, just the search window. Right now I have a google search window (not the whole google toolbar). I would like a Yahoo search window - Yahoo is my home page and I prefer yahoo - but I don't think Yahoo has a separate search window, does it?

As of yesterday, any time I try to go to google's home page, are do a search in my browers built in search bar, google has been taking long to respond. I've tried several computers, and google runs slow on all of them. The odd thing is, when I try to go to google.com or search for something, it takes me to google image search (which runs fine) searching for the google.com. Youtube, google images, google maps, all that is running fine for me. It's just the home page and search engine that don't seem to be working. Any ideas anyone?
