Google Image Search is a search service created by Google which allows users to search the Web for image content. The feature was originally announced in December 2001. The keywords for the image search are based on the filename of the image, the link text pointing to the image, and text adjacent to the image. When searching for an image, a thumbnail of each matching image is displayed. Then when clicking on a thumbnail, the image is displayed in a frame at the top of the page and the website on which that image was found is displayed in a frame below it, making it easier to see from where the image is coming.....

I have been working on my website updating it with images regularly with proper names et all. My site appears in google search on typing my details but none of the images show. Is there something I need to do for it to work???

100% Q: Everything I type in the address bar ends up in a Google image search HELP?

Okay so each time I type something it ends up in my google search box (I have a google toolbar) in an image search. I know I'm spelling it right. Even attempting to use the link to the page via my "Favorites" leads me to a google image search of the website. PLEASE HELP

A:I would suggest removing Google Toolbar. Right click on it and click on the check mark next to the google toolbar option. Make sure it is unchecked. The easiest alternative would be to use file->open as your address bar. When you press file->open, there will be an address bar that you can type in. The shortcut for this is ctrl+L, so it'll save some time. I know this probably wasn't the solution you were looking for, but it will most likely work as a temporary alternative. However, if you are using internet explorer, I highly suggest switching over to firefox. Personally, I find firefox to be more workable and is much less prone to bugs. While internet explorer 7 is pretty good, I'd say firefox is a lot easier and more secure.

I'd like to know how to have certain images on your website show up in a Google Word Search in response to someone searching for specific keywords. Is it as simple as labeling the image with the keyword in question? For example, if I want people looking for 'Iron Man t-shirts' to come to my site, can I just label an image on my site as 'Iron Man t-shirts' as that image will appear somewhere in the search results for that key word?

A:As the Google Mothership crawls the internet it downloads just about everything into its own database. In a way, Google has a copy of the entire internet jam packed into its search engine computers. Images included. If your images have descriptive file names and the ALT tag, it will catalog the image using the ALT tag as the indexing. This creates an Image search engine that they have. The nice thing about this, it is less competitive than regular searches and its free and quite easy to get listed in TOP 10 because they almost all display the site they came from with links. Great way to generate traffic if ya know what I mean.

100% Q: When you do a google image search, are you are risk of viruses from the site that has the image?

So say, for instance I google image search for the word "castle", and I get back from the image search various castle images from numerous website. I DON'T click any of the images, but stay on Google's image result page. Am I at any risk of a virus from any of these individual pages (assuming there was an infected page out there), or have I not actually visited any of these pages? (in other words, does google image searched cache these images somehow?) I't sortof a tricky question to explain... I hope I said this right. Thanks.

A:The 'thumbnail' images are created by Google on Google's server. They are actually not the files on the original website, so you are free from worry of infection, as long as you don't visit the site.
