100% Q: gas prices?
just wondering if any1 knows when the gas prices are coming down, just had my bill in and got a nasty shock!!! I remember it being on the news months ago but i dont think any change has happened except for the price being raised.
A:I am afraid that very rarely does the price of what goes up, come down. Once they have got it they tend to keep it. Your best course of action would be to go to Uswitch, and change suppliers. That seems to be only way to make them take notice. Thats what worries me about the talk of charging for dustbin collections, they say our council tax will go down. I dont believe them!!!!

100% Q: What is predicted to happen to the gas prices in california? will it ever drop?
What is predicted to happen to the gas prices in california? will it ever drop? right now its like 5 bucks a gallon. is the price predicted to rise? when will the price start dropping again? which president do you think will help us stabilize our economy again and have decent prices for gas in california? it is outrageous. maybe something bout US owning Antarctica? will that help the gas prices become more stable?
A:Sorry but high gas prices are here to stay until such a time exists that demand significantly decreases due to other options. The US produces about 3% of the oil on the market and we use about 25% of what is consumed worldwide. Today, China and India have a growing demand for cars and gas. Gas prices are about $9 a gallon in Europe so we really don't have much room to complain. Both McCain and Obama will have their work cut out for them. Drilling off-shore will have no effect on gas prices for a long, long time other than some sort of immediate feel good sensation that our leaders are doing something. It will take 10 years before off-shore drilling will yield a drop. The best solution is for you and I to reduce our individual consumption and then support policies through your voting habits that fund alternative energy, conservation and sustainable living. The way I do that is to consolidate my car trips and my husband and I ride our bicycles to work. We thought about mileage when we purchased our vehicle 2 years ago, knowing that gas prices would go up (how could you not know???? I've known since I the oil embargo of 1973 and I was only 11!!!!) We live in the mountain southwest where it snows heavily in winter so we need an SUV and got a Honda Element, which is very fuel efficient. We voted to increase our sales tax locally to expand city bus service. The initiative passed and we hope to take the bus to work by next summer. The bottom line is that American lifestyles are going to have to change. Some people might tell you that such changes will set us down the road to a socialist way of life similar to Europe. Well I have traveled in Europe extensively and I don't see them complaining about riding bicycles on municipally maintained bike paths and lanes or using public transit, which is fantastic. My travels suggest to me that middle class Europeans manage pretty well, despite having to pay $9 a gallon and use buses and trains to get to work and school. This is not outrageous, this is the real world.

100% Q: How much is average gas prices in other countries?
Gas prices here in America have just reached an average of $4 a gallon. How much is gas (liter or gallon) in other countries? Are Americans paying a greater price for gas than the rest of the world?
A:US Gas Prices Are Still Cheap Fuel subsidies are common in oil-rich countries. Venezuela, which has vast oil reserves, maintains a price of Bs.F 0.097 per litre (around US$0.05), and has done so since 1998. Other countries with subsidised fuel include Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Burma, Malaysia, Kuwait, India, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Trinidad and Tobago, Brunei and Nigeria. The Australian state of Queensland also subsidises fuel at the rate of A$0.08354 per litre Gasoline prices are low in the United States when compared with most other Western countries. In June of 2008, gasoline prices in the United States were US$1.06/litre (US$4.00 per US gallon). Belgium (Brussels) US$/gal $8.44 Denmark US$/gal $9.31 Italy US$/gal $8.78 Hong Kong US$/gal $8.33 Netherlands US$/gal 9.73 Kuwait US$/gal 0.79 The cheapest.? Venezuela US$/gal 0.19

100% Q: How come gas prices are so expensive in Alberta compared to the States?
Gas prices here in Alberta have reached $1.30/litre and are still expected to rise. That's roughly $4.90 a gallon down south. We have so many resources such as the tar sands which are being heavily extracted causing a huge boom in our economy. How come we are not seeing these effects in the prices?
A:One of the main reasons has to do with taxation. There are lots of bills being paid by paying at the gas station. Some of them include health, education, etc. that all Canadian have access to. In the US gas may be cheaper but everyone has to pay for health, education, etc out of their own pocket.

100% Q: How much are gas prices really affecting your everyday life?
We all obviciously know gas prices are at historically high rate and all I hear when I watch tv is how much people have to cut other things out of their budgets to pay for gas. But when I drive by the malls and shopping centers on the weekends, they look as busy as ever. There also doesn't seem to be any less cars on the road on non business days. How bad is it really?
A:I see less cars on the roads in my area. Restaurants seem emptier. I bought a gas saver car a year ago. In the past I'd just jump in the car when I needed something. Now, if I'm thinking of driving 6 miles round trip to the store for just one thing I usually won't. If I only want a snack I'm more likely to go to the corner store since it's ultimately cheaper than driving.
