gas price statistics

Natural gas is a gaseous fossil fuel consisting primarily of methane but including significant quantities of ethane, propane, butane, and pentane—heavier hydrocarbons removed prior to use as a consumer fuel —as well as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, helium and hydrogen sulfide.[1] It is found in oil fields (associated) either dissolved or isolated in natural gas fields (non-associated), and in coal beds (as coalbed methane). When methane-rich gases are produced by the anaerobic decay of non-fossil organic material, these are referred to as biogas. Sources of biogas include swamps, marshes, and landfills (see landfill gas), as well as sewage sludge and manure by way of anaerobic digesters, in addition to enteric fermentation particularly in cattle.....

100% Q: Where can I find weird statistics like the average price of a gallon of gas or milk or a car on my birthdate?
Other trivia would include #1 movies, popular actors/actresses/music stars, the average price of a home, etc. If it's possible I would like these statistics in Kentucky. Thanks so much!
A:The library keeps micro film of old newspapers, or type in on your browser, your local newspaper's name then go to archives, it will let you look at back issues. I have done this with genealogy research and it is neat to see what was going on the day you were born, and the prices of things.....have fun...thank you

100% Q: What are you doing about the rising gas prices?
From what I've read about statistics, even with rising gas prices continuing to break record prices, Americans are not reducing their driving. What are you doing (if anything) in response to the rising costs of fuel? Have prices changed your driving habits?
A:This is to Kelly: While gasoline does condense as it gets colder, whoever told you that neglected to account for the constant temperature undergound. I distribute gasoline to stations across the country and the temperature of gasoline in the ground rarely moves more than a few tenths of degree a day. There is no benefit to buying in the morning versus the afternoon. In fact, gasoline rarely changes more than a couple of degrees year round when it's stored underground. The best chance you'd have of getting a deal would be to fuel up immediately after a winter delivery. The most you'd be likely to get in a 20 gallon tank would be less than 2-3 ounces extra. (If someone else wants to do the math, be my guest!!). As for my driving habits, I moved closer to work 3 years ago and both my vehicles get over 25 mpg, while still carrying most or all of my 6 family members. I use good gasoline (see below) and keep my vehicle tuned up. I buy tires with low rolling resistance and use cruise control as often as possible, which gets me about 5% better mileage.

100% Q: Look at this shocking gas statistics! What can we do??
Gas prices are now averaging 3.13 per gallon up 75 cents from one yr ago. Experts predict $ 4.00 per gallon by Spring Home Heating oil costs have tripled since 2001. 5 big oil companies reported RECORD profits in 2007- Exxon Mobile earning 40.6 billion- THE LARGEST CORPORATE PROFIT IN AMERICAN HISTORY! While many Americans are struggling in this horrible economy what can we do to make a change? It is not right that the big oil companies are making record profits while the American people can hardly keep their homes and fill up their tanks to work or go to school. Is there a short term fix to get relief? http://www.care2.com/polling/results/224 Leif- Who are you to answer the question? Glad you are one of those senseless people that like wasting their money- I guess you are one of those adjustable rate mortgage victims too that is effecting the rest of the country. MalClave- Wow! Thanks for the rant on how to ask a question here on Yahoo- looks like you have an impressive 8% of best answers. I don't think that I need your evaluation, but any time I can provide you with tips on how to ANSWER a question properly let me know. The question listed statistics not emotions. The source is also listed at the bottom of the question. Please take a refresher course in reading comprehension.
A:I feel the same as you. My family took a three day vacation last week. Gas cost us over $250.00 for the trip. That is as much as we paid for our hotel and more than we spent on entertainment. By the time we figured in fuel, several things we promised the kids we would do were just not in the budget. We drive a small SUV and can't afford to trade it for something more fuel efficient, (it is paid for). Also, you can't take a vacation with four people in a tiny car. Regular working class people can't afford vacations while big oil execs can afford their own private islands. The fact that oil companies are making record profits is gaulling to those of us who struggle just to get by. I just had to add this comment on Leif W's answer. Who am I to say the price you pay for gas is too high? I personally don't give a flying rat's a** if you write a big fat personal donation to your favorite oil company and deliver it with a wet, sloppy smooch. However I do care about myself and most of the people in this country having to struggle to pay exorbitant gas prices just so fabulously rich people can get even more fabulously rich. I usually don't say this, but that was a profoundly stupid answer and we all are dumber now having read it.
