100% Q: gas price?
Do u know why gas price is different from one place to another in one state or country, even in one city? What kind of benefit do you thing this low gas stations will get by making their price low?
How do you think you can find this low price gas stations?
A:Market variability. Sales reps may feel they want to focus on moving more product in one area. If the station is privately owned, the owner may be battling with another station nearby and dropping his prices to where he's making nothing on gasoline. Sometimes if we get in a supply crunch, we will move prices to slow or speed up sales, depending on our needs.
In the case of our company, dealers can get volume discounts which they pass along to the consumer. Also, depending on class of trade, a brand may have retail stations it operates while some other stations may be operated by a wholesaler who will drive hundreds of miles to save a couple cents a gallon, which can be passed along to the consumer.
chelle, lay off the hallucinogens, darlin'. We're in record territory for crude oil, two years ago it was around $50-60 a barrel.
Finding low prices? In addition to the sites others mentioned, I use gasbuddy.com and MSN Autos has a gas price page that is zip code driven. Just google it.

100% Q: Gas prices have come down. Will the cost of an average price of gas continue to drop?
I live in New York and I pay approximately $2.67 per gallon of gas?
What is the average price of gasoline where you live?
Do you think the cost of gasoline will continue to fall into the next year, 2007?
From Missouri, where the average cost of gasoline is $2.11 to Hawaii, where the average cost of gasoline is $3.14 per gallon, are you comfortable with the cost of gasoline in your state/area?
If you are looking for a new or used car, will the price of gas be a high consideration as to what type of car you buy...and what about hybrids?
A:The average price of gasoline where I live is just about the same as yours. Will the cost continue to fall? I don't think so. We will never see gas fall below $2.00 per gallon across the country again and before 2012 we will all be paying more than $3.00 per gallon. Why? Because the oil companies know they can get it from us. Our society is still way too dependent upon oil and gas. It will be at least another generation or so before we seriously start to look at alternatives. A hybrid? Great idea but I don't think it will catch on in most parts of the country. I see them out here on the west coast and I'm sure they are around in the north east but can you really see them in the mid west or the south? It is just a different mind set there.
I hope I'm wrong and people do start to see that we are being forced to pay what ever the oil companies want us to pay.

100% Q: What will trigger the gas price getting higher?
Is OPEC a monopoly? Are they manipulating the gas price? The price of gas is rising up because the demand for gas surpasses the supple, what will make the gas price continue rising up? How would it get criticle?
will the gas leader company Exxon Mobile monopolize gas supplying?
A:Is OPEC a monopoly? Close, but not exactly; OPEC controls (provided that members don't cheat, and they do) a little less than half of world's crude oil production.
Are they manipulating the gas price? No they (attempt to) manipulate the price of crude oil.
Is the price of gas is rising up because the demand for gas surpasses the supply? Yes, but this time around it has relatively little to do with OPEC. The current bottleneck, interestingly enough, is not crude supply or its interruptions, as it was during 1970s and 1980s; it is refinery capacity. Oil companies have not built or expanded refineries for a while now, so the demand has caught up with supply, and there is not a lot of idle capacity. So the most likely way of it "getting critical" would be a major refinery going offline for reconstruction or due to an accident.

100% Q: Why does the gas price change while it is in the gas station's underground tank?
I see those gas trucks pull up weekly at my nearby gas station to fill the ground. During that week I notice the gas price rising and rising. so my real question is if the gas is already in the ground and bought at a certain price by the gas station, why does it still rise? should'nt it only change on the next gas truck delivery when it is bought by at a different price? These are some questions I have been wanting answers for, for a real long time!
A:Gas stations exist to make a profit. They are not selling the gas at cost plus a margin, they are selling at the highest price that the market will bear in order to make the biggest profit possible. If they charge too much, then people won't buy from them and the price will have to come down. If all stations charge too much, then people will drive less and thus buy less gas. So, there is a perfect point where they make the most profit possible but don't drive away business. This is the price that you are charged.
Here's an example: You buy a house for $200K. You live in it for a year. After the year, prices of houses have gone up in your neighborhood and your house is worth $300K. You are going to sell it for $300K right, not $200K. It is the same house you bought for $200K, but now the market will let you sell it for $300K. Understand?
