furniture repair

I have a Lane Cedar Chest that belonged to my grandmother. When we moved it the back leg cracked. How can I find a good antique furniture repair place? What questions should I be asking? I know these chests are worth money and I want to limited the decrease in value from the crack and repair job. The chest is from the 1930's and they hold up well over time. Any good quality piece is worth money if cared and maintained properly. I see it's worth beyond $$$$. This was something my grandmother owned and I remember it from my childhood times with her. My grandmother never liked having her photo taken, so this chest is a visual rememberance of her for me.

I have a chair that the upholstery part on the arm sides are coming off and I need the bottom of the sofa which is made out of wood, redone! Thanks!

my husband is just starting out in this business on the side, wondering what types of info should be listed and how in an estimate for a repair job. is there a standard method to insure he gives the customer all of the proper info?

It looks great but big people have plunked down with out grace and its sitting low. Notes: I already tried those boards you unfold and set under the cushions. They worked like three days. I don't think it's worth spending hundreds to have it professionally fixed. Buying a new one is a waste until these brats move off on their own!
