franchising opportunities
Franchising refers to the method of practicing and using another person's philosophy of business. The "franchisors" authorize the proven methods and trademarks of their businesses to "franchisees" for a fee and a percentage of gross monthly sales. Various tangibles and intangibles such as national or international advertising, training, and other support services are commonly made available by the franchisor. Agreements typically last five to twenty years, with premature cancellations or terminations of most contracts bearing serious consequences for franchisees.....

100% Q: What are some REAL franchising opportunities not crap money pits?
Everything has already been done. The I phone wasn't introduced using a pyramid scheme or franchising. Is anything fresh left to start up? Will I work for someone else for the rest of my life. Kill me now.....
A:Face it....if you open your own business you're working for some one else. And the term business owner is very, very wrong...the business owns you, but only for the first 20 years or so...if you're not spending time keeping the employees from stealing from you, or going out on their own with a very similar product and taking your best customers with them. Seriously, try a McDonald's...about half a million dollars for the franchise purchase...average pay back period is 16 months. They do the demographics, send you to McDonald University, have all the processes documented, the equipment, etc. It's a sweet deal...and you can buy as many as you want...if you can actually ever get one.

100% Q: Why does Tim Hortons limit their franchising opportunities to only people living in Canada?
jeez.
i meant north america.
A:There is no market as of yet in other countries. I know it is in Canada and the States and a temporary one in Afghanistan.
Found this on the site
"What if I am interested in an International franchise outside of Canada and the United States?
The TDL Group Corp. has completed its own internal research on international markets and from this we have determined that our immediate development plans are to concentrate on continued growth in Canada and the United States. As such, we are not prepared to entertain applications or proposals for anywhere outside of North America."
Basically there is a bigger market in Canada and the States at this point in time, so they are concentrating on that.

100% Q: Do clothing stores such as Hollister Co., American Eagle, and Abercrombie have franchising opportunities?
I am just wondering because in my area people have to travel 3 hours at least to get to any of these stores and I know that they would do VERY well.
Thanks!!!
A:The three you mentioned are all corporate owned to protect the brand. Once you franchise a business, you start to lose control of some of the little details that make the company what it is. You might be able to get on their websites and send a comment to their main office indicating how much your area would like a store. You could also contact the store that you visit and ask for a district manager's number. He might know if there are future plans to build near you.

100% Q: any good franchise opportunities our there that do require high wealth to start?
are they any franchise opportunities that are normally successful for hard working people that dont require high wealth to start, i could swing about 10k to start. My degree is in the arts, but would probably go take a few accounting and business classes before starting.
A:There are actually a lot of industries that give you an incredible opportunity that do not require high wealth to start. Rather it would be successful to you or not is all on you and how you build your own business. Every person is different, every business operation in business is different. I've even see a McDonald's shut down in an area because the business was improperly managed and not bringing enough income to keep it going. Every business has an opportunity to make a sufficient income for the owner. The success depends on the owner and what they do. If your unfamiliar with how to build a business, then I suggest you get involved in an industry that has training programs and earn as you learn that industry and build your own business. Sure you can take business classes before starting if you'd like. But you can also take on the programs that different industries offer for building a business in that industry, and make the money while at it verses taking a general business class that doesn't focus on a particular industry. Each industry is different on how they're ran, what you do, and what not to do.
There are thousands of industries that have these types of opportunities. Just take a look around.
As far as 10 thousand, you don't need that much at all to start a home based business in an industry and run it out of your home. In fact, most home based business cost under $500 to start. You have the same income opportunity as any traditional business around, but without all the over head expenses and the same tax benefits as well.
