A:FWISD is huge. Some areas are better than others. I have 3 nieces here that are teachers, two in Keller ISD and one in McKinney. My nephew's fiancee is also a teacher relocating here and going through the job search right now. Another local district that is booming is the Northwest ISD. They are one of the highest paying districts around and the schools here are rated very high as well. The rep for FWISD is that some schools are so bad, no good teachers will go there, hence the out of area recruiting. Be cautious about your job selections. Best advice is to talk to someone here in the school districts and get some first hand info. I am sure any of my nieces will help you with your decisions if you would like more information. Of course, if you are so motivated as to want the challenge of a financially disadvantaged school, parts of Ft Worth can provide you that opportunity also. The 'best' districts around by scores and financial advantage are the Northwest, Keller and Carroll ISD's. Good luck. I hope your move here is a successful one. A:A few of the districts in my area recently tried to enforce a dress code and at some of them, a bunch of the students flat out refused to follow its more ridiculous guidelines. But more than that, their parents backed them up. The parents complained regularly and loudly to the school board about the dress code and worked hard to get it reversed (I don't think they got it completely reversed, but they got some of the more ridiculous rules amended). Going to the school board would be the mature approach and if you present your case calmly and effectively, you could get somewhere. And if your parents will go with you and give their own reasons why the dress code is silly, that's even better. If you make enough noise, your local paper might cover it. That could help you really get some momentum going and maybe lots of people will help you and make their own noise. The more, the merrier.

A:I live in Grand Prairie im shocked to see a question about it. Grand Prairie is a great affordable place to live. I live on the border of Arlington off of 360 and it is great to go in any direction. It takes about 30 min to get to Grapevine and Irving I worked in Grapevine and lived in Grand Prairie. I personally dont like Dallas because the houses have problems and you can never find a good neighborhood without it being very expensive. Good luck to you.
