100% Q: Where online can I find complaints filed against dentists?

Where can I find out whether a dentist has had a complaint filed against him? I'm in new york state, Niagara falls/Niagara county.

A:I don't know if NY works the same as Texas, but I know that in Texas you can go to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners website and click on the license verification link and if you type in the dentists name, it will show you if any disiplinary action has been taken against the dentist. However, it will not tell you the details, just a yes or no answer. It doesn't show you complaints that people have filed, because if the state investigated and discovered that their was no cause for a complain, they don't take action against the patient. To get details, you have to sent in a written request to the state board.

100% Q: Why ask about a dentists refrences online?

I am curious why someone would base whether or not they go to a certain dentist or not, by what someone online would say about this guy. What if he/she is a great dentist and you happen to get a response from the one person on here that knows them and had a bad experience at their office? Why dont you call the better business office in your town and see if they have any complaints? Or request a consult with him so you can get to know him? Dont you think that your opinion of him might differ from that of other people who have seen him? I am really curious to know why a strangers opinion of a dentist would make you want to or not want to go to them?

A:I've noticed that too, as in: "Anybody know about Dr. Make S. Miles of Fargo, ND?" I mean, anyone can answer that question whether they've heard of Dr. Miles or not. This can be a good resource, especially with the two or three actual dentists who take their time to answer here. But why would a person ask about a specific dentist in a specific town when the odds are against anyone seeing the question who actually KNOWS?? Better Business Bureau, local dental society, your neighbors or friends - all ways to find a good dentist without getting wacky and inaccurate responses.

A:Nowhere. Dentists need to actually see the teeth and x-rays before giving any kind of prognosis or diagnosis. They need to check the teeth with their explorer to check for cavities and measure the gums with a probe.

100% Q: How do i find a dentist that will let me interview him online for an Anatomy project?

i have to ask around 20 questions depending on what type of eye doctor they are and get them done in 20 days. i only need one interview.

A:go to your local dentists website find his email adress and email him. Surely he'll say yes. Worst comes to worst it will be an interview via email.
