find dentist

I've begun getting extreme closed-in feelings when my current dentist is working on me, and he gets snippy with me and doesn't have any patience for my problem. I need to find a patient dentist and one that is also on my ERS list of dentists. I have claustrophobia.

I moved to UES NYC (work in white plains) and do not know where to find a good dentist. Anyone have a good person to recommend? Looking for a trustworthy dentist and don't know how to tell if someone is good or not!

Ok, I recently just visited a dentist that someone referred me to. But he works independently and when I went to visit his office, I didn't see any certificates or any licenses on his wall, or at least in the rooms that we were in. So how can I directly find out that he is doing legal work and that he is certified?
