federal business opportunity

A business opportunity , or bizopp , involves the sale or lease of any product, service, equipment, etc. that will enable the purchaser-licensee to begin a business. The licensor or seller of a business opportunity usually declares that it will secure or assist the buyer in finding a suitable location or provide the product to the purchaser-licensee. This is different from the sale of an independent business, in which there is no continued relationship required by the seller.....

100% Q: As a business professional, would you rather work for the Federal Government or Commercial Sector?
Are the following points true? I heard the general rule was that in industry, you get 25% more pay for 50% more work than in the federal government. Is the additional pay in industry worth the opportunity cost of the paid time off and flexible work schedule you lose? How many hours per week, on average, do you work in Financial Planning & Analysis or Business Operations in industry? Is it true that you learn best practices more in industry? Is it true you have more mobility in industry? What has been your experience with jumping between the public and private sector? Which did you learn more from? Which is more fulfilling? And what financial/operational skills did you find in common/contrast? Finally, which sector (government or industry) is better in the long run for an undergrad like me who doesn't know where he/she wants to be in the future?
A:In this day and age you are always better to go with a government job because as far as it is possible, there is more job security with the government than with the commercial sector.

100% Q: Federal Contractor Equal Opportunity Policy?
I've searched Google & Yahoo with no luck. Can anyone provide a link to information regarding the federal contractor equal opportunity policy that defense contractors and those types of businesses abide by? Much appreciated!
A:Executive Order 11246 - Prohibits federal contractors and subcontractors and federally assisted construction contractors and subcontractors that generally have contracts that exceed $10,000, or that will (or can reasonably be expected to) aggregate to more than $10,000 in any 12-month period, from discriminating in employment decisions on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin; and it requires them to take affirmative action to ensure that equal opportunity is provided in all aspects of their employment. 41 CFR Chapter 60 - Regulations issued by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs implementing Executive Order 11246. http://www.dol.gov/esa/regs/compliance/ofccp/faqs/emprfaqs.htm#Q3

100% Q: How do I report abuse by scammers?
A guy got my phone number off my car (I advertise as a massage therapist) and asked if I wanted a "business opportunity." Long story short, after needing to look at his web page to make sure it's a scam (because I didn't want to drive 30 minutes to a presentation), I turned him down when he called back. Less than a minute later I get a text message saying, "Miss cricket phone and worry about gas queen, keep in mind that POOR stands for Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly. I'll keep earning 200 a day or more-lol." First off, how fu
A:Simple. Add your number to the National "DO NOT CALL LIST" it is just for the @ssholes like him. If after the allotted time he calls, give them a shout. Oh yes, and check the local laws in your area. harassing phone calls in some states are considered the unsolicited ones like his. EXTRA: Let your phone service know about the texting too. HEY! post his number here, we will all call him! If we all call one time, and never again we might not be violating the above laws. But???? One never knows.

100% Q: How can I apply for a management-level job with a US company that would like to open an office on Guam?
With the plans for the federal gov't to relocate 15,000 US Marines to Guam from Okinawa over the next 5-7 years, Guam is going to be ripe for more US businesses to set up shop and capitalize on all the potential business. As a US territory, we enjoy many US based businesses already, including KMart, Hard Rock Cafe, TGI Fridays and more. Plans include a Home Depot to open later this year as well as a Ruby Tuesday's restaurant. I am interested in working for any other major company that would like to consider Guam as their next overseas venture. I am a strong planner, manager, communicator, and have very strong organizational skills. Currently I work as an executive director and am looking for better opportunities. I live on Guam and can't seem to find a way to find companies who are recruiting employees to assist them in opening a location here. Can anyone help me with this? I am sure there are potential businesses out there that would love to consider Guam for more profits.

100% Q: How does the FairTax protect low-income and lower-middle-income families and individuals?
Under the FairTax plan, poor people pay no net FairTax at all up to the poverty level! Every household receives a rebate that is equal to the FairTax paid on essential goods and services, and wage earners are no longer subject to the most regressive and burdensome tax of all, the payroll tax. Those spending at twice the poverty level pay a tax of only 11.5 percent a rate much lower than the income and payroll tax burden they bear today. Under the federal income tax, slow economic growth and recessions have a disproportionately adverse impact on lower-income families. Breadwinners in these families are more likely to lose their jobs, are less likely to have the resources to weather bad economic times, and are more in need of the initial employment opportunities that a dynamic, growing economy provides. Retaining the present tax system makes economic progress needlessly slow, thus harming low-income people the most. In contrast, the FairTax dramatically improves economic growth and wage rates for all, but especially for lower-income families and individuals. In addition to receiving the monthly FairTax rebate, these taxpayers are freed from regressive payroll taxes, the federal income tax, and the compliance burdens associated with each. They pay no more business taxes hidden in the price of goods and services, and used goods are tax free. http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer?pagename=about_faq_answers#13 http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer?pagename=about_main I’m posting this information because many people say that the Fair Tax is unfair to low income families and the poor. For those who are interested in learning more about the Fair Tax, this is an excellent site which will answer many questions. For those who take the time to learn more about this, I think that you’ll discover that this system is much better than what we presently have. There are many on this forum who are familiar with this and have taken the time to actually read about it. To me, this does seem FAIR. For those already in the know, do you agree, disagree, and what are your reasons for one or the other? THERove, take some time to read. You've voiced your opinion and have read NOTHING. :)
A:Agreed, your comments provide a lot of information regarding the Fair Tax. I am all for it. It untaxes all qualified households up to the poverty level, including Bill Gates if he applies for the Prebate. But the undocumented workers (PC) will not get the Prebate until they have left the country and re-enter through the proper channels! You will have the power and control over how much you pay in taxes based upon "how you spend your money" The politicians will no longer be able to play a class warfare game by taxing one group and giving a free ride to others! No more "rich vs poor" labels! Businesses do not pay any taxes! The taxes imposed by politicans are merely another cost of doing business the same as raw material or labor costs. All the costs of doing business are passed on to their customers (you and me) Politicians put an excess profits tax on those greedy oil companies --- The price of gas went up about $0.10 per gallon --- and the politicians got more money to waste away! Who paid? You and me! With all the taxes removed from businesses, the cost of goods will go down. Foreign business will flock to the USA and increase the job market. Wages will go up as the demand for better quality workers grows. There will be more money invested in the USA and the "MADE IN USA" label will return! There will be no tax loopholes! Even the Politicians will not be able to find a way to dodge paying their FAIR share! (Just check what percentage of taxes were paid by Ted Kennedy or John Kerry!
