A:This is going to depend on the type of test the doctor wanted, and if you follow his instructions TO THE LETTER. If he requests a fasting test, and you eat anything not approved, it will mess up the results. If he wants you to eat a specific type of food first, and you don't, it will mess up the results. You have to follow his instructions to the letter and the results will be reliable.

22% Q: I think my doctor's a sicko!?

Ok, help me out here please. I'm NOT making this up! I'm sorry if this sounds a little crass, but I really want some opinions on this so bear with me. I have been seeing this family doctor for about 6 months. The first time I went, he did a real simple physical and this included a....ummm, rectal exam...yeah. Anyway, I went back about 3 months later for the stomach flu and he stuck his finder up me again- never did tell me why or what for, but I figured he's the doc, he must have a reason. Well, this morning I went to see him because I thought I had a sinus infection- the TOP of my body, right ? Guess what- you guessed it; he yet again stuck his sausage sized finger into my bum...now I think there's more going on here because I'm no doctor, but my sinuses are NOT connected to my rear end and I think he enjoys fingering me. I'm not going back to him ever again, but should I say something ? Does anyone else see this behavior as strange and abnormal ? Geeze- I need some thoughts! For those who are wondering, I am a guy....a guy who HATES having done what was done to me and yes, it made me VERY uncomfortable. I did ask him why he was doing it today and he mumbled off some medical jargon I couldn't understand and then said he's "ruling out" something...it scared me, you know, thinking of cancer and all but right afterwards I'm think that it just didn't make sense and I think he was giving excuses for his perverted actions. Thanks to everyone so far! Also, I'm not a little kid as someone said- I'm 28.

A:Wow- yeah, I'd say that's abnormal behavior! You have the right to not only know exactly what the doctor is doing, but you have the right to deny a specific treatment. If the doctor touches you without expressed permission, it's considered assault & battery and you can file charges. Most doctors are VERY sensitive to your privacy and would never just violate you like that without being POSITIVE that you know what's happening and why....you need to report him to your state's medical review board....that's just wrong on every level. I WENT THERE CUZ I GOT A UTI...AND I ASKED TO GET MY FINDER PRICKED SINCE I HADNT EATEN FOR 12 HOURS AND IT WAS 43....NURSE SAID I JUST NEEDED TO EAT. I MEANT FINGER

A:It is not nice to starve the bod!! Must feed it regularly with proper foods or it will turn and be very mean to you. Nurse? said?? Didn't you follow this up with the doctor? Did the nurse bring you some orange juice or something? I was about that low after taking the treadmill stress test! Nurses didn't even offer me any water! Do you trust the nurse??? I don't!! They are half educated.
